I wrote this story based on a song I hold close to my heart which is For Emma by Bon Iver. I felt like not enough stories explored the aftermath of losing someone and I wanted to channel my own sadness into art.
Claire is anyone who lost someone close to them, whether it be a family member, a friend, or even a pet. Loss is inevitable and I wanted to show a side that seems to be glossed over a lot. Grief changes you and it doesn't just magically go away. The characters will struggle to overcome their grief throughout the story and they will stumble to find their way again. I hope those who have lost someone can relate to these characters and the story.
Enjoy Days After You, which is formerly Losing Everything.
With all your lies, you're still very lovable,
I toured the light, so many foreign roads,
For Emma, forever ago
