There was once a boy named Bryan who had fallen madly in love with his best friend Lane. Bryan refused to ever tell Lane that he liked him as more than a friend because he didn't want to ruin their friendship. However, each day Bryan went without saying a word to Lane about liking him, his feelings would only become stronger. This is the story of how Bryan came to love and possibly lose his best friend.
One fateful April day of 2001 Bryan Greene was transferred into a new school. The school was in the small town of Ravenwood. Bryan was in the middle of his 6th grade year of middle school when his mother and father decided to move from their town of Lima Ohio to move to Ravenwood where his father had grown up. This town was very special, for it was full of witches and warlocks, goblins and ghouls. People looking into the town without believing in the supernatural would just see normal humans. The only ones allowed into the town were those who either are supernatural or believe in the supernatural. Bryan never really believed in anything supernatural until he moved into Ravenwood and his father told him the rules of the town. Bryan's father John and his mother Mary had never told Bryan that they were both magical beings, so Bryan never knew he was a warlock until they moved into the town.
Now you must know that there are good witches and warlocks and there are bad witches and warlocks. the Greene family were among those of the good witches and warlocks. Soon after the Greene family had moved into town their old friends stopped talking to them and eventually forgot the Greene family even existed. All except for the Parker family forgot about the Greene family.
About two years later was when Bryan met his best friend Lane. Lane and his family had just moved into town on the 16th of March in 2003. Bryan was selected by the principal to show Lane around the school. Bryan was more than happy to have the opportunity to make a new friend, so he took Lane around the school and showed him all of his classes which were conveniently the same as Bryan's classes. They talked about anything and everything in study hall and at lunch they discussed magic. It turned out that Lane was also a warlock.
Bryan made it his mission to make Lane happy no matter what, and he was determined to successfully complete his mission. For the next couple of years Lane and Bryan became the best of friends and the most popular kids in the entire school. Now they were in 10th grade and Lane had kept a secret from his best friend that he could never find himself able to tell Bryan. However, one day he couldn't handle keeping this from him anymore. As the two boys sat at lunch the talked about which girls they found attractive. This was the perfect time for Lane to confess to his friend. "Bryan... I have something I need to tell you." Lane spoke with a small timid voice.
"What do you need to say?" Bryan questioned. Lane looked down at the ground for he was unsure of how to tell his secret. " No matter what you say I will still be your best friend. I promise." Bryan wasn't about to loose his best friend over a silly secret.
"Well... I... Uh... I'm sorry of... Bisexual..." Lane finally spoke. Sure, his voice was very soft and quiet, but Bryan was still able to hear his words even over the loudness of the cafeteria. Bryan was shocked to say the least. He never thought his best friend would be bisexual, let alone ever tell him. Sure, Bryan and Lane told each other everything but Bryan still hadn't told Lane that he was gay. This was the perfect time to come out to him.
"Lane... I'm gay. So, I know pretty much exactly what you're going through. Believe me when I sat that I will be here for you no matter what. You are my best friend after all." Bryan spoke in a calm yet extremely happy tone of voice. Lane hadn't yet experienced this level of happiness coming from his friend, but it made him very happy as well. The boys continued to eat their lunch and had a conversation about which guys they would date. When the bell rang signaling this period was over the boys threw away their trash and made their way to 8th period. 8th period for the boys was geometry, which they both despised.
