Y/N
I tapped my nails against the back of my phone anxiously awaiting a reply. Every few seconds my eyes would scan the whiteboard in front of me in a hopeless attempt to make it seem as though I was still engaged in the lesson. Vibrating softly in my hand, I swiped across my phone screen to see another desperate text from Zack about what he would do to me if I wasn't at his house any later than four. I contemplated replying before my name being called pulled me out of my little bubble.
"Y/N." My eyes quickly met the piercing blue ones that belonged to Mr Biersack.
"Give me your phone." He demands, his tattooed hand reaching out to retrieve it.
"But Sir I...."
"No excuses, give me your phone and come back for it and a detention at the end of the day."
"I have something on I need to go to," I try desperately, pleading if not for my phone back then not a detention especially tonight.
"No excuses,' he gently pries my phone out of my hand and starts back towards the front of the class, ' you should of thought of that before breaking the school rules."
I can feel the tears already pooling at the corner of my eyes and I lay my head on the desk in an attempt to hide them from the staring eyes of my classmates.
By the time the school bell rings signalling the last period of the day, I grab my bag and dash out the classroom, not waiting to be dismissed.

I never believed discipline was the way in which makes students want to be in school and eager to learn. I was quite lenient towards the kids in my class, turning a blind eye to gum chewers and the occasional phone that was being used. Most of the teachers would argue that I was letting them walk all over me but I can quite easily dismiss that by reminding them my students always get the best grades. However, when the kids do stop participating and are more interested in their phones (which aren't very well hidden) I like to intervene just to remind them I am in charge. I was starting to get a bit pissed when Y/N started to try and argue with me, usually at the worst I'd take their phones and give them back at the end of the lesson but I'm not allowing everyone else to think they can disrespect me like her.
Last period for me on a Tuesday always meant tedious marking in the solitary confinement's of my classroom. Yet today I couldn't focus, the way her dark eyes looked desperate and her broken voice when she tried to defend herself kept playing in my mind. That and the obnoxious buzz from the phone I'd pushed to the back of my draw. I drag the draw open and let my hand fish through it until it wraps around the phone. My finger hovers close to the power off button until half a dozen notifications on the lock screen catches my eye.
