The Fortune Cookie

Part 2

I met my date who was named Ryan at a chiness restaurant at 1:00 pm. When I arrived I looked around the restaurant for Ryan. I spotted him at a table for two and walked towards him. When I finally got to the table he stood up and smiled "Zoey right?" he asks me and I smile. He was handsome with brown eyes and blonde hair the opposite as Gaven and his blue eyes and dark brown hair. Wait why am I thinking about him. I shake my head clearing my thoughts and smile at Ryan " yes. You must be Ryan" he nods and motions to the chair for me to sit so I do. We eat and get to know each other Ryan was a good guy but it just did not feel right. When the date ended Ryan and I said our goodbyes and I began to make my way to the restaurant door after using the bathroom. I was not feeling that good not the sick kind but just tired of all these dates. I just wanted to find love and be happy. All the guys I have gone out with did not have a spark or made my heart race. I know that's stupied and that's all fake and only in the books and movies but I just wanted to find a spark. I head towards the door to leave When I get their I am stopped by an old lady who worked at the restaurant. " Are you alright honey?" he asked in a small voice. I send her a small smile. " Yes I am fine. Don't worry" I tell her getting ready to leave but I was stopped once again. " Here have a fortune cookie. It might tell you something about your future that will make you feel better" she said handing my a small cookie. "I don't really believe a cookie can tell me my future. But thanks anyway" I tell her but she does not give up there. She takes my hand and places it in my hand. "Please give it a chance. You never know" she tells me. Knowing she will not give up I nod my head and acapet the cookie anyway. After I thank her I began to walk down the street the the coffee shop where I was meeting Gaven. As I walk I decided to open the cookie. I eat the cookie and then I unfold the little piece of paper that was inside it. I read the word written on the paper. "Love is just around the corner" I read out loud. I look up from the paper and see that I had to turn a corner to get to the shop. "Haha funny around this corner" I looked back at the paper in my hand then the corner of a building and stop before I turn. maybe .... No that's crazy. I turn the corner of the building and I see the coffee shop and sitting at the table in the front sits Gaven. I smile once I spotted him. I seem to do that everytime I see him. I walk towards him and stop when I see a girl around our age approach him I have never seen her before. Gaven stands up and She gives Gaven something in a small box. Gaven gives her a hug and then kisses her on the cheek. My heart drops. My heart stings at the sight of Gaven and the girl. Why does this hurt so much? They talk and I feel hurt and sadness come upon me. I look down at my hands and read a paper "love is just around the corner" then it hit me, I like Gaven. no I love him. he 's sweet and kind smart and amazing he makes me smile and laugh no matter what. That's why it hurts seeing him with another girl. I look back up at Gaven and the girl and I realize it's too late. I did not see how I felt about him until it was too late. I felt as if I was going to cry. I watch as the girl walks away. I walk towards Gaven and I see him look up from his phone and smile when his eyes met mine I give him a small smile still feeling sad and like I am going to cry. "Hey how was the date?" he asks me nervously "not so good" I said with a frown. " really?" he smiles. Why is he happy about this? " yeah. We can't all have secret happy relationships like you" I snap which takes him by surprise. "What are you talking about?" he asks confused. " You and that pretty girl you were talking to before I came" I say mad. I know I should not be mad at him but he didn't even tell me about her and it just sucks that I was too late. "You mean Sera?" he asks pointing his thumb in the direction she went before I got here. " if that is her name then yes. Sera" I say with attitude. " Zoey. Sera is my cousin she was dropping something off for me" he tells me. My jaw dropped to the floor. "I am such an idiot" I say covering my face with my hands. When I remove my hands from I eyes and I see Gaven smiling at me. " what? Why are you smiling like that?" I ask him he looks at me for a second. " why would you be so upset if she was not my cousin?" he asked and I feel my face heat up. " well... see... I was mad that you did not tell me" I struggle to get the words out, He looked me in the eyes " Is that the only Reason why you were upset?" he asks me and I look down and nod not want to look at him in the eyes any longer. "Yeah that's the only reason" I lied too nervous to tell him how I felt. "That sucks I was hoping there was another reason why" he says with makes my head snap up. He stands up and walks over to me and pulls me out of my chair. Confused I look at him as he looked into my eyes. " w-what are you doing?" I ask him to not know what to do. He smiles nervously Then pulls out a box from his pocket and hands it to me. I look at the box in my hands and opens it. It was a fortune cookie. I look up at him confused then back at the cookie I open it and I unfold the paper and read the words out loud. " I love you" I gasp at what it was and look at Gaven who is smiling at me. " Zoey I love you so much. I always have but I was scared to tell you how I felt. Every date you went on I wished I was the guy you were meeting. You are amazing and beautiful. Your perfect. Will you be my girlfriend Zoey?" he asks me. My heat is going crazy my stomach is filled with butterflies everything they describe in the movies and books was happening. There was a spark between Gaven and I. no not a spark there is a flame. I can't help but smile big. " I love you too Gaven" I tell him meaning every word. I do love him. It took me a little while to figure it out but I did at the end and I am so glad I did. I smile and jump into his arms and then planting a small kiss on his lips. We pull away and look into each overs eyes. " so I am going to take that as a yes?" he smiles. " Yes. that is definitely a Yes"
