I remember it so well, the day I met him. How could I not? It changed my life forever, he changed my life forever.

If I'm honest I wouldn't even be here if it weren't for him. I was at the edge of my rope, ready to end it all. I had just found out that the men I worked for were evil monsters. I was getting paid less than minimum wage to do their dirty work. I couldn't live with myself after that.

I was going to go through with it. I was just at the edge, so close to the sweet release of nonexistence when he showed up. He pushed me out of deaths way and back onto the path of the living. Then had the audacity to look all shocked and confused about what had happened.

This man had just ruined my plans of suicide so I did the only logical thing one can do in that situation. I invited him out for a drink.

One conversation with him was all it took to make me realize this guy was an idiot. But I enjoyed talking to him, he had no idea what he was doing or where he was going and that didn't seem to bother him. As nice as it was I still had not changed my mind on taking my life. He may have pushed me out the way but I wasn't about to let that stop me.

So I tried to make an excuse to leave, but he called me back, asking if I would be his friend. This made me freeze, nobody had ever wanted me as a friend before. It took me off guard and I had to ask him if he meant it. He said he did and I decided to take his word for it.

He looked behind me and then freaked out, trying to hide himself. I looked at what had him spooked even with his protests. It was the police. So this guy was on the run from the law. All I thought was, great what have I gotten myself into?
