Recap:
"Aww" the person groans in a deep masculine voice. I look up and my eyes meet with his. Uh oh, I can feel my insides melt as I stare into his grey greenish eyes that match his dark green shirt. His brown curly hair is the kind that's kinda messy but in an attractive way. My eyes divert to his muscular bicep as he's leaning down on his forearm. Then I look to the right side of his collarbone where a beautiful rose is tattooed. He stumbles and gets up dusting his clothing. I quickly stand up too so I don't seem like a creep.
"I'm so sorry, I..."
"Watch where you're going." he glares, and walks away. What the hell just happened?***
What a jerk! Whatever, I have better things to worry about than idiots in high school. Just then,
Chloe runs over and shakes me, waking me up from my little trance of disbelief. Chloe and I have been best friends since kindergarten. She's the social one in our friendship while I'm the quieter one who prefers not to talk unless necessary. Today she's wearing red pants, and a white button up collared shirt. She likes to experiment with different hairstyles and colours, and this year she dyed her originally blonde hair black, and she's deffinately rocking it. Chloe always looks pretty, no matter what hairstyle or clothing she's wearing.
"Who was that?! What's his name?!" She yells, as she bombards me with questions.
"I don't know! And I don't really care." I reply.
"Well he was kind of cute, but not as cute as Cooper" I roll my eyes as she rants on and on about how she hasn't seen her boyfriend, Cooper, the whole summer, as he had gone to Ireland and London with his family. Chloe and Cooper have been going out since the 9th grade. They're the cheesiest couple ever and are completely in love with each other. Chloe and I head over to the wall beside the office to find our homeroom classes. I'm in room 315, and Chloe's in room 320. As we turn around to look for anyone we might know, we spot Cooper running towards us.
"Cooper!" Chloe squeals.
"Chloe! I missed you!" He yells, as he runs over towards us, picking up Chloe and spinning her around. He puts her down, and the next thing you know their lips meet. They kiss right there, beside the office, not noticing the disgusted grade 7ers, and uncomfortable parents watching them. I decide to stop them before this becomes one of their full-on make out sessions.
I clear my throat to catch their attention. "Nice seeing you too, Cooper." Cooper breaks from the kiss and I can see Chloe blushing. Cooper grins at her, and turns his attention towards me.
"Hey Sandra, how are you? Haven't seen you the whole summer" He smiles.
"Yeah I..." The bell rings interrupting me, so we all part ways and head to our class. I get to the third floor and scan the halls for room 315. I walk into the classroom that will be my new homeroom for the rest of the semester. The desks are arranged in pairs and are in 3 rows. I take a seat in the back of the class, near the window, and look around the classroom. I have English first with Mr.Toms, the one teacher I prayed that I wouldn't have this year. He sounds like a mouse, and has extremely yellow teeth. His hair is back and spiky with way too much gel.
"Hi Sandra" exclaims Riah, interrupting my thoughts. Riah and I have a rocky relationship. She thinks she's Miss. Perfect. She's the third smartest person in our school, after Cooper and I, but she likes to pretend that she's the best. Riah, Chloe and I used to be best friends, until the day she went behind my back and hooked up with my crush since grade 7, Jason Pierce. Ever since that day she's made it her mission to make high school a living hell for everyone she feels is below her, and weaseled her way into the popular crowd.
"Sandra..." Riah says.
"Hi Riah. How was your summer?" I say, faking the biggest smile I could. 'I bet you spent it with Jason', I thought bitterly. Just the sight of her makes we want to smash something. A bit violent, yes, but if you've known her for as long as I have, you'd understand how I feel. The bell rang just then, saving me from this conversation. "Please stand for the national anthem and morning prayer" says a loud voice through the PA. We all stand, and listen to the song we've heard over a billion times. As the national Anthem plays, the door suddenly swings open.
"I'm here!", says a voice. Everyone looks over, and guess who's standing there.
