We were here.
There was a car waiting for us with a personal driver. My mom liked driving but since America doesnt drive on the same side the UK does she might have asked for him. After i got off the plane gravity played a sick joke on me and vertigo kicked in and the floor hugged me. I was going to hug it anyways but i skipped two steps and tumbled down. I laughed while my mom almost got a stroke. The doctors told me to avoid cuts and bruises because sometimes with the meds the blood doesnt clot normally. Which means I too got scared but i was ok my cut actually wasnt a cut it was a mere scratch no blood poured out of it so my mom has nothing to worry about.
Anyways enough about cuts and bruises im finally in LA I want to go see the famous stars on Sunset and I want to take a picture with that famous sign far on that mountain.
"Mom are we going to be staying in a house here or the hotel you told me about long ago?" I ask.
"No actually your uncle helped me rent a house with private entrance amd you're going to love the garden." she said."Oh ok. Lets go get settled and then can we please go off to explore?" I asked.
"Yea, but your uncle arranged a meet up with a few of his people that are staying here in LA as well."She said.
"Oh ok Are they actors or singers?" I responded curiously.
"Im not sure Hannah he didnt say but he did say you would like them and maybe they can take you out to explore when im busy on set." she said.
We pulled up to a curved drive way my mom gave a code to the driver and we went in. The house was beautiful, but the first thing that caught my eye was the garden. It was all grassy and it had a huge tree in the middle and rose bushes surrounding it. The bushes were shaped into characters and it was like beeing in a new world in LA. I know for sure not everyone has a garden this detailed.
Without noticing I was sitting on the floor right in front of the tree and roses. Just staring at the tree. She was right I fell in love with this garden. Back home I needed to take daily walks to the community garden in order to be content. I no longer need to walk two blocks it was litterally walking out of the house.
My mom came over to sit with me, and held me.
One thing about having a deadly sickness is knowing that I can die at any time so its better to take it all in and appriciate everything I see.
"Wow." is all I could whisper to my mom.
"C'mon lets get settled in we have staff in this house too so lets go meet them, and show them we are not the snobby british rich people type." She said giving me a hand to stand up.
"Okay." I whispered taking her hand while we walked to the front of the house.
"Welcome Mrs. Wilmore and miss Willmore" Two really young ladies said to us as they let us inside the house, oh who am I kidding, this was mansion.
"Oh please just call us by our first names, I am Anna and this is Hannah but she likes to go by Coleen instead since its her middle name." My mom tells them giving both of them friendly hugs.
Which caught them off guard because the look on their faces told us so.
"Dont be scared in our country we are very huggable people if it bothers you please let us know, expecially mom " I tell them.
"I am Julie, and this is my mom Julieta, She takes care of the kitchen, and half of the bedrooms, and i take care of the living quarters and the library." The youngest one, julie, says.
"Theres a library here?" i could not help but as that question without looking up at the ceiling.
"Yes two actually, Mister Simon keeps one library for anything and everything in the social and famous world and the other has all the basics and he sent me to stock in a few new books he said you were a fan of books" Julie says leading me towards the dimly lit gold colored passage.
I kept walking toward the end of the gold hall and I stopped when I saw the door open to the library. The room was dimly lit and the books looked old and used which caught my attention, but before I stepped in I heard the doorbell ring and I heard loud voices and footsteps at the main area of the entrance. Whoever it was they were loud. I went inside the library and went to the stack of books that weren't yet on the shelf and I ended up picking up a book that was blue with clouds on it.
Before I could read the first part of the book a person broke my concentration by walking inside the library.
"Oh sorry I thought nobody would be here. Uncle Si lets me borrow his books sometimes. i'll come back later." A tall dark haired man said scaring me.
"Its ok i was just exploring and looking at his collection." I told him lifting the blue book with clouds up.
"Are you emotionally ok?" He asked and I got taken aback.
"Excuse me?" i said.
"I mean im guessing you dont know about this book no spoilers or anything but its a cancer book that isnt about cancer. More about people who have cancer. Truly tragic i feel for both of the main characters. It leaves you on edge its a lovely story but since cancer is tragic story the book leaves you with more emotional pain ever endured." He says finishing off staring into the book.
"Well cancer isnt always so tragic look at the beauty of it its trying to get killed off with so much medicine but it fights on to keep living. Now that is something isnt it?" I tell him.
I think i just made a fool of myself so i just put my head down and whispered an excuse me and ran up to find a room with my things in it.
I am such a weirdo. I am dying from a thing that is only fighting to live why cant I do the same?
