"(M/n), I know you've been off the case for a few weeks now, doing filing room work and what not. But I need you here and back on the Kim Taehyung case. ASAP. He's going apeshit, he's in a weird headspace right now. I'll give you all the details once you get down here." Mr. J's booming voice sounded through the phone, waking (M/n) up nearly half an hour before his alarm could do it's designated job. He sighed, moving the phone away from his ear as he took a long, hard yawn.

"Okay boss, be there in 15. Ciao" (M/n) agreed, putting his phone down once his boss had replied and cut the call. He rushed and fumbled around his closet until he found something suitable. One good thing about his job was that there wasn't a uniform. However, he still needed to look smart. Hence, the bow ties (M/n) now has a growing collection of.

Pulling out a greyish-beige button-up, and some very dark green corduroy pants, put together by a pair of three-eye Doc Martens and matching beige socks, and a dark green bow tie to top it all off. (M/n) was ready, and he certainly looked the part.

He quickly did all the things he needed to in his morning routine, which consisted of; emptying his bladder, brushing his pearly whites, touching up his hair and doing some light boy-glam makeup. And, with a little bit of persuasion from Seokjin, he took a light breakfast with him as well. Toast, you can't go wrong with toast.

Unsurprisingly, Jungkook had stopped dropping (M/n) off and work and bringing him back like he used to. But it was okay, (M/n) actually didn't mind the train commute, and today he was met with a couple of familiar faces.

"Yo, (M/n), I didn't know you take the train." Hoseok said, moving up a seat so the younger could sit next to him and Yoongi. "I used to get dropped off by.. never mind.. I prefer the train" (M/n) said with a slight sigh in his voice, it was too soon to even think about bringing Jungkook up again.

"What's up? You sound tired.." Yoongi observed, tilting his head at (M/n) slightly in concern. "That's rich coming from you, hyung." (M/n) joked, a little chuckle erupting from his dry throat. "Oi, I'm wide awake thank you. I have my cup of coffee, so I'll be fine today." Yoongi replied, taking a sip of said caffeinated hot drink.

"No, really (M/n).. you okay? If something.. or someone is bothering you, let us know yeah?" Hoseok offered, taking (M/n)'s hand in his with a caring glance. The train stopped at another station and a tall man with a long, brown coat on walked onto the platform, taking a seat opposite the three. (M/n) was tired, and sort of in a daze, but when he shot up he noticed this man was Namjoon. "Hey, oh (M/n). You take the train now? I though Jungkook would be dr-" "Jungkook was b-busy this morning, so he forgot to." (M/n) cut him off, he was nervous, using Namjoon's interruption as a way to dodge Hoseok's question.

Before they could squeeze another small conversation in, the train had reached their stop. The carriage they were in rumbled a little when the fast train gradually halted. The doors then swished open, the robotic-sounding voice letting them know of the stop the train had reached. Sure enough, all four of them stood up and got off, walking the short distance form the station to the prison they worked at.

Hoseok
I wasn't convinced (M/n)'s totally fine, but I decided that I'm going to leave him alone about it for now. After all, we've got work to do and it could just be the stress of the weekday piling up on him.

But, I noticed when Namjoon asked him about Jungkook, he seemed off.. to be fair, the new officer was getting pretty clingy around (M/n), so maybe he just got a bit tired of it and had an argument with him? Best not to jump to conclusions without knowing anything, but being a detective you kinda always have a hunch about things.

I've made sure to tell Yoongi and Namjoon to keep an eye on (M/n) as well, not in a creepy way, but to just make sure he's okay. Being in a one-to-one, twenty minute session with a manipulative serial killer must really do things to you. And on top of that, having to cope with a co-worker having a massive crush on you, despite not returning the feelings.

(M/n)
"Mr. Jeong? I'm here." I said, standing at my boss's door. Which wasn't completely closed, that most likely meant I could come in, but as you can guess, I needed clarification. Mr. J hummed, signalling that I could enter his office. "Yes, hi (M/n). Here are your notes from previous meetings, though I doubt you'd need them, since all you gotta do is talk to him. He's planning another escape. He tried to escape before, I'm sure you're aware, and this time he seems all the more determined. He isn't letting anyone in his cell room, but guards say he was mumbling.. er, moaning your name last night.. you might be our only hope, but don't you worry, the room will be guarded from outside. Just, go in there and stop this fool would you?" Mr. J said, sounding exhausted, he pressed his fingers against his temples, a deep sigh erupting from his chest.

"A-alright Mr. J, I'll try my best.." I replied, leaving my notes behind, knowing it wouldn't be an average session, and making my way to Taehyung's cell room. Before my eyes could even register to what I was seeing, the sound came first.

Two dozen guards, scattered along the whole mile long cell block, majority of them surrounding Taehyung, who appeared to be in some form of psychosis. He was sat on his bed, staring out of the window, rocking back and forth over and over, muttering all manner of nonsense. There were books, magazines, plates, chairs, scattered around the tiny room he stayed in, broken glasses, ripped up paper.

Kim Taehyung, what on earth have you gotten me into?
