Children from Diablo,  had anxiously awaited Halloween night. It was finally here. Rebecca raced to the scariest house in town. The full moon seemed to follow her there. The gate that opened the protective fence was long gone. Only a few picket boards stripped of paint were still standing from the original fence. Wind and weather had stripped most of the paint from the house. From a distance, an on-looker with a little bit of an imagination could see how the windows,  front door, and porch formed a grotesque face. Rebecca had noticed this face every time she passed the house. This place of ruin didn't seem to have any life left in it. She appeared to be alone and yet she felt like she was being watched, maybe even drawn to this dark sterile place. Just as she stepped up to ring the door bell, the moon slipped between some lacey clouds.  A cool breeze seemed to come out of nowhere and pulled at Rebecca's breath as if to suck the air from her lungs. Startled by this, she was distracted from the real danger that lurked behind the door where she stood with her candy bag open, waiting for her Trick or Treat.

An old bent over women with a neck of a nose opened the door. Rebecca never imagined this granny of a woman could be so strong until she felt her long skinny fingers wrap around her arm and pull her into the house. There was No time to scream. The door slammed Shut and Rebecca stood crying alone in the dark.

Children were walking from house to house in the neighborhood yelling and making happy noises. The main goal of this night was to get as much candy as possible. The younger kids kept fishing out of their Trick or Treat bags newly acquired mini-candy bars, bubble gum and other such goodies. Everyone was having to much fun to approach the scariest house in town. It looked to weird and dark to venture near. Besides its creepy exterior, it felt like there was an evil presence that hovered over that house. No one came close to it; even if they were dared.

The moon came out of hiding and lit up the neighborhood as if it were noonday. Rebecca never saw this light nor heard the kids' voices outside. All she heard was what sounded like a cat meowing. Someone or something was pulling her by the hair to a place against her will. She tried to fight by kicking and screaming but she couldn't reach whatever held her. The thick odor of the room was so strong she could taste it and adequate her want to puke. As she screamed for help only the gurgle of her own blood could be heard as the razor sharp blade severed her throat. All struggle ceased. Life drained from her as her spirit slipped out of the flesh. She was mysteriously free, hovering near the ceiling, looking down upon the whole gory scene. The murderer was not someone's nice granny. She was an evil witch who hated everyone, especially children.

Rebecca lie dead. Her ghost swore she would haunt this place until she received her revenge.

This is Rebecca's story of how her innocent blood cried out for revenge and the haunting of the witch began. Read on, only if you dare!
