"When speaking to your target - charisma is key. How your voice sounds, your body movement. If you even slip up the slightest and show a glimmer of anxiety or bloodlust, the target will pick up on this and it doesn't take an idiot to know when someone's acting sketchy." Tuning out of Lily's stern speech, I tap my finger against the desk impatiently. The irritation of having to sit through such mundane lessons was driving me insane.
Saved by the bell - a term used frequently among students. Standing I stretch out, leaning backwards, the small of my back cracks "Have you been to see Ivan?" Looking down at Riley who's sat on my desk now, his friends staring at us - as if I'm going to snap and murder the boy right here and then - shaking my head I exhale "What do I have to talk to him about. You know as well as I do it'll only end in blood shed." I reply nonchalantly, my constant yawning portraying my obvious fatigue.
We both sat up last night training and putting together different strategies. And obviously talking about Ivan since the boys keen on knowing my past. I wasn't embarrassed of my past nor was I enraged but I didn't want some kid knowing that he's so close to what mortals would call a Monster.
"It's worth speaking to him, even if it's just a simple sentence about how you feel." He says, shrugging I sit back down into my chair "A simple sentence turned murder. Sounds great - right?" I ask, his brows furrowing showing the irritation rising up on his features "Fine - I'll talk to him." I grumble, waving my hand as I lean forwards "After schools over. I'll speak to him. I'm not going to his office right this minute else I will end up killing the man." I continue, a smile spreading across his face "Always so persuasive." I chuckle.
Standing opposite Lucifer Jenkins, his knife held in his hand much like how I hold my knives, a smug smirk plastered on his face as he moves towards me, moving to the left he falls forwards slightly, my left hand gripping the back of his collar whilst my right holds my knife to the centre of his back "First rule of Assassination: do not underestimate your target no matter how dense they look. I could practically see the confidence and narcissism radiating off of you." I say sternly, letting go of his collar he falls flat on his face "Dickhead..." he growls as I walk away.
"Jj is right. And also let me address you on the whole nickname your giving him. 'Psychopath' it describes him perfectly so using it as an insult is pointless because he takes it as a compliment." Leo shouts, smirking I look over my shoulder "Riley and Jace. Your up." He says now.
Standing opposite Riley I cock an eyebrow "The student becomes the master." I hum, hearing him laugh I go to stab him in the stomach but fail as he wraps his arms around my arm and moves his ankle behind mine in obvious attempts to deck me, I move my foot to the side countering his attack causing us both to stumble back slightly "He's holding up against Jace." I hear someone murmur, watching him move towards me, he kicks me in the chest sending me stumbling back slightly and as I go to steady myself and attack him back, I'm on the ground and his knife is placed at my throat, straddling my abdomen as he hovers over me "I yield." I smile causing him to cheer and raise his hands in victory "Good win Riley. Someone who actually took down Psycho-Jace is small and slim - take note on how he moved with Jace." Leo says to the students who are watching in shock as Riley dances around happily.
"I beat you." Half-Ignoring Riley's teasing of victory I lean forward in my chair, my jaw resting on the table "Have you ever thought maybe I let you beat me? Considering your my student." I retaliate, his face dropping briefly before returning even more smug than before "You wouldn't let me think I won to make me feel like I'm doing better. I know I'm doing better and you know it too!" He shoots back earning a chesty laugh from me "your perception truly does terrify me." I exhale.

Riley and Jace decided to skip practice tonight because Jace is knackered and hasn't slept for a while. Moving to the point that Riley was now walking home with his best friends - Lewis Mc'Connol, Hayden Posey, Layla Philips, Lucy and Lucifer Jenkins and Fred Barton. "You totally kicked Psycho's ass today." Hayden chirps as she throws her arms around Riley who rolls his eyes and continues eating his bag of potato chips "Totalled. I'm surprised he didn't go berserk and kill you." Lucifer murmurs earning a Death glare from Riley immediately "If you guys weren't being such total dicks about this all, you'd understand he's a normal guy. He just went through a lot." Riley says sternly now, it was quite a touchy subject and he doesn't know why "Why do you like this guy so much?" Lucy asks after punching her brother "I get that she's totally hot and has this incredible bad-guy aura - but like Hayden said, he's a psycho and practically immortal. An immortal psychotic test-subject." She continues "He's also kind-hearted, a total softy and yes sure, he's immortal but he only did it to save himself from dying." Riley retaliates, his voice stern again despite his calm appearance.

Leaning against the wall of Ivan's office, my arms folded over my chest as I stare at the ground he sits in his chair by the window, his back turned to me "Are you going to say something?" He asks, inhaling I tilt my head back "Trust me, I'm only here because I was convinced." I grumble "convinced? That's a new one - someone actually managed to knock some sense into you?" He returns, growling I clench my fists, exhaling now I calm myself down "Some sense? Was I the one who abandoned their best friend in a random laboratory?" I ask as I push myself off of the wall "A random laboratory you were being tortured in! A slow death would've been better than that!" He shouts, laughing I push my hair back as I turn to face the door "So you'd rather have me dead than here? Right now? Riley was wrong - I shouldn't have came here." I grumble "You expected me to sit and watch them tear you apart? Worrying whether or not what they was doing would work?" He says as I reach for the handle, I exhale "I only killed those scientists because I was enraged. When they finally released me I was furious you didn't get to see me Alive and healthy. Because you walked away. When I needed you the most, you walked away." I say as calmly as possible before opening the door and walking out.
Throwing a small light pebble at Riley's window I walk towards it when I see a silhouette stand, climbing up the side of the house I cling onto the window ledge as he opens the window itself "What the hell - Jace is like two in the morning..." he groans as he wipes his eyes "Yeah I just got back from school. You was wrong - I shouldn't have spoke to Ivan, it made things so much more worse." I mumble, watching him sigh he steps back and gestures for me to enter "Your folks won't go berserk, right?" I ask as I climb into the bedroom he shakes his head "I'll just tell them you was going through something..." he murmurs, his face clearly portraying fatigue "Well talk about it all tomorrow, I need sleep - and so do you." He grumbles as he takes one of his pillows and grabs one of the blankets at the bottom of his bed and hands them to me "Okay - Thanks Riley." I smile, lowering myself to the ground I lie on my back as he climbs into his bed and basically passes out.
