The Chase For Love

Chapter 3

When I reached Kiridium High School, I saw a prefect closing the school gate.I dashed forward trying to get in but I was stopped by her.

"You are late. What is your name?" The prefect asked rudely while using her pen to point at me.

"Please, just let me in. I do not want to get detention in Mrs. Lime's office." I pleaded her hoping that she would give in.

However,she did not and called Mrs.Lime to come over. Mrs. Lime jogged over to the gate with her odd-fashion clothes.

"What is happening here?" She asked impatiently.

The prefect told her about everything and I could only stand beside the prefect doing nothing and just watch myself get into deep trouble. Mrs. Lime turned to me and said mercilessly," Two weeks of detention for you. What is you name ?"

"Glendon Cheong." I said sheepishly with my head down.

Mrs.Lime signalled me to go back to class and I immediately dashed away.

As I was walking along the hallways towards the classroom, I saw Johnny Hillson picking up with some girls using his magic tricks again. I walked past him hoping that he would not notice me.

However,he saw me."Hey Glendon, did you know Emma and I are going to be a couple? Too sad for you. I heard that you were crying along the hallways when you heard this. Ha-ha" Johnny taunted me and laughed at me for losing Emma. The rest of the girls joined in and giggled. My face turned red as a tomato as a surge of embarrassment filled me.

I ignored them and walked towards my classroom. "It must be Amanda Heng, the school's nosy reporter." I muttered to myself as I punched my fist onto the other hand. Amanda Heng would post every single details of the school on her blog. She had a blonde hair and likes to do lots of manicures and pedicures. She is also very sarcastic when she speaks.

When I reached the classroom, not many students were there yet. I looked at my watch it says five minutes past eight. My class starts at half past eight. I wondered what should I do before class starts. I then decided to head towards the cafeteria first to grab something.

On my way there, I saw Amanda Heng talking to... Emma! They were giggling in the sidewalks and talking. I tried to hear what they were talking about and thus hid myself behind a wall.

"Do you really like Johnny Hillson?" Amanda asked while scribbling some notes down on her notebook.

"Yes,I do like him because he is able to use magic which I found it very cool and amazing," Emma Lee whispered while twirling her hair with her fingers.

"If only I had magic..." I mumbled to myself.

Suddenly, I remembered what happened earlier this morning where I was able to turn a pitch-black cat into nothing. The note left on my window sill was also flashing in my mind which tells me to chase after my love using magic. A surge of realization struck me when I realized I was able to use magic which the fairy gave me.

I took to my heels and headed back to the classroom to find out whether my magic really works.

When I reached the classroom, it was already filled with hustle and bustle. Most of my classmates were playing their phone games while others chat with each other. I quickly sat in my seat and prepared myself to chant a spell.

I focused all my inner energy and the power of my spirit all into my index finger and I chanted," This noise must stop and may peace fill the classroom!"

A ray of green light shot out of my index finger out of my amusement and shock. The class immediately turned quiet even a pin could be heard dropping. I widened my eyes in surprise and my hands quivered tremendously after digesting the fact that I have magic.

Just then Johnny Hillson walked into the classroom.
