I remember it like it was yesterday, I was laying in bed not wanting to get up Monday morning. I could hear my phone alarm ringing but I decided to ignore it.

I continued to get annoying by the alarm clock, so In the end, I got up. "Roy! Honey get up!" I hear my mother calling out loud to me from the kitchen. I put on my slippers, comb my hair, and put on my contacts before heading out to eat breakfast.

When at the kitchen, I'm met with my mom, half brother, and step dad. My step dad, Mike, looks at me and in a plain voice says, "food's on the table." I silently grab my plate and sit down to eat. I suddenly felt a hand on my leg and look over to see what it was. My 10 month old half brother, Lewis.

"Go away." I said I a groggy voice

"R-Ro-Roy!" Lewis says in a shaky voice

It was silent

I hadn't realized what I had done until I heard the loud bang on the floor.

I pushed Lewis.

Loud cries were heard around the house

My mother looked at me wide eyed and my step father looking like he was about to kill me.

Before anyone could say anything, I ran to my room, slammed the door, and grabbed my phone

Ring... ring... ring...

"Miranda?"

"Hey Roy! What can I do for ya?"

"An incident happened, can you pick me up please?"

"Be ready in ten."

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I was so grateful to have a friend like her.

....

Ten minutes later Miranda pulled up to the front of my house. I went out my window to avoid my parents.

Miranda looks at me with worry, "hey dude, you alright?" "Yeah I'm good," I say in a dull tone.

... At school

I'm walking up the stairs looking for any of my other friends when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and smile, "hey Manny..." he giggles, "hello!" He can make me go from depressed to happy in seconds.. I randomly hug Manny as I didn't know I was doing this.
He looked suprised at first but later melted into the hug

"S-sorry, dunno what came over me." I said while looking at him

"It's fine! How about we go to class now?" He suggested

"Alright, let's go."
