Papyrus left for his station safe in the knowledge that nothing could possibly go wrong now that Sans has his extra emergency spaghetti.

Things went wrong almost immediately. As Papyrus rounded a bend, Sans popped out from behind  a tree, startling paps.

"GAH!  I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD RUN THAT FAST!" Papyrus rattled out.

"ok, sorry, but bro, there's something i gotta tell you. it's about the kid-"

"KID? WHAT'S WRONG WITH M.K?" Papyrus asked. He put his hands on his knobbly hips, suspicious of more jokes.

"what? no. no, the kid!" Sans' voice was strained. It sounded like he wanted to yell, but was stopping himself. His eyelights were shaking. There was the tiny sound of snow crunching behind Sans, and he froze. Papyrus glanced back and saw-

"OH MY GOD! SANS, IS THAT A HUMAN??" Papyrus gasped and pointed at the small child mere feet from his brother.

"..ahh, nno, that's a rock." Sans said while pointing at said rock further away.

"NO, NOT THE ROCK!" Papyrus said, "RIGHT BEHIND YOU, A HUMAN CHILD!"

The kid stood there, motionless. Papyrus excitedly turned to his brother. Sans, however was looking with a hard expression at the human. Pap looked back to them. Did Sans see something he didn't? After a moment looking them over, he decided not and turned back to his brother. Sans was still looking pointedly at the human.  Pap turned back to the human, then again to his brother. This went on for a bit until Papyrus saw his brother looking in the opposite direction than before. Confused, Pap swiveled around only to see nothing of note behind them, and turned around again, so fast that he ended up facing the trees to his left.

Pappy tried course correcting by swinging the other way around only to make a perfect 540 degree spin,  ending with him facing his brother again. Sans, for his part, was teleport-spinning in circles. Strange, but still not the direction he wanted to be in.

Around and around the skelebrothers went, until finally both of them stopped facing the human again. Papyrus wobbled a little before spinning around a bit more slowly to speak with Sans and Spinny-Sans.

"Sans!!! Oh My God!!!!" Papyrus bent down a little, nearly falling onto his brother. Sans pushed him back up just enough for him to keep his balance. Pap shook his head and spoke in a quiet voice, "I'm Dizzy. What Am I Looking At?"

"the hu-  the humongous rock, remember?" Sans replied.

"OH, RIGHT! WAIT, THEN WHY WERE WE WHISPERING?"

Sans' two eyelights darted away from paps, "because it wants to im-pasta the rock salt in your extra emergency spaghetti?"  Sans started pushing Papyrus back towards his guard post.

Papyrus straightened up immediately and turned around, saying, "OH NO! I HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOURS HASN'T BEEN 'PEPPERED' WITH THAT-"

Papyrus paused mid-preamble as he saw the small child he nearly walked over. They hadn't even flinched. Papyrus long jumped backwards in surprise.

"OH MY GOD, SANS, THERE'S A HUMAN THERE!"

Sans gave a bashful shrug; "would'ya believe me if i said it was a rock?"
