In Brodland lived a young couple:
Mary and Josh. For a long time they waited for their first child to be born. And so two years passed. They had a daughter, Rosie. A few days later Tom was born, and soon Henry. Alice was the last to be born. So they lived together. But then Josh, the father of the family fell ill and soon died. Mary was grieving, but there was nothing to do. Opening a small shop Mary combined work and childcare. Despite all the difficulties, she raised them to be fair and honest people.
Rosie was beautiful. From early childhood she loved herbs, and her mother taught the girl to make balms. As soon as she came of age she began to help her mother with her work.
Alice loved to write poetry. Her works were so beautiful that I wanted to read them without stopping. As a child, she was used to the attention and loved the audience. At sixteen, she begged her mother's permission to go to the big city to produce her work. The mother, seeing her daughter's love for the cause, let her go.
