chapter one

Starla's pov.
I shook as the pet master brought the wip to my back again, sending a massive surge of pain throughout my lower body. I focused my magic to my back, numbing the pain slightly. I heared the pet master walk away and shut my cage door. He walked away bashing the wip on the other cages on the way. I collapsed onto the floor and silently cursed myself for talking back to him this was my fault and I needed to deal with that. I heared my cell mate syrin crawl over to me and felt her stroking my hair. " star? Are you going to be ok? " I heared her ask. I slowly looked up at the older woman and smiled. "Yea I'm gonna be ok. My magic is helping." I said and looked away, syrin is the only friend I have and I don't want to leave her but I know I'm going to have to if I'm bought. She smiled at me and cradled me in her arms, softly humming the lullabie that she has used ever since we met. " I remember tears streaming down your face, when I said I'll never let you go. But all those shadows almost killed your light. I remember you said don't leave me here alone. With all that's dead and passed and gone Tonight..."
And with that I let the darkness engulf me.
I woke up to the sound of the bell over the shop door and sit up. Syrin looks over at me and smiles. I reach behind me and feel my back, only to find that it has healed. I look over at the counter and see a vampire stood talking to the pet master. The vamp turns around and I inwardly gasp. He was beautiful, he had black hair like a raven and his eyes were red as blood wich was extremely rare and only the royals have red eyes most have black or hazel eyes. I look down as the pet master comes towards us and shows the 'man' the different options that are on sale. I dare a glimps as they come towards our cell. The buyer stops and bends down to our height, he looks up and speaks In a voice that is almost bored. "Blood type for the red head" the pet master smirks at me and says "O negative" the man stands up and says "I'll take her" before walking away. "Have her sent to my mansion" is all he says before walking out into the sunlight.
Dread fills me as I realise what just happend. I just got bought...
