Pre-Episode 3

Bighit Building 11:30 AM

While the camera was being adjusted in the car, a nervous young man wearing a dashing long sleeve polo paired with wide pants emerged from the building. All the staff who saw him was awestrucked by how handsome he is despite doing something as ordinary as walking out from a building. As he was stationed by the staff to wait at the benches, the assistant director came up to him to give him a briefing on how the events would lead through out the day.

"Taehyung-ssi, you'll be meeting your wife at a maze park in Gangnam. Along the way, you'll be given a chance to get a gift for her with the money that the staff will hand you in the car. We wouldn't want to jump in here on what you'd be giving her for a first gift as said by the producers since it'll be scripted. We wanted it to be of your choice. So ultimately, we're just going to give you activities throughout the season in exchange for authentic reactions to avoid criticisms like the last time." Park-PD explained.

With a lot running in his mind, Taehyung only managed to nod in response to the briefing. As if on cue, the production staff had gave Taehyung a sign that the cameras are already prepared and will start filming in the car. As he stepped in the car, he got himself settled comfortably on his seat to organize all his thoughts.

The first thing that came to his mind is the question: how will he give a gift without having the clue on what the person likes. The second thing is who is this person that would be his wife. Third, what would he give that would lead to a great impression of himself to his wife. And last but most importantly, what would girls like to receive in general.

As he ponders more on his thoughts, the staff in front of him then gave him a phone and briefed him that his wife sent a message that would be a helpful clue on this mystery. However, when he opened the message he was rather confused than enlightened with its content. The message contained a picture of a tree, nothing more nothing less.

"Excuse me, sir. How is this a clue on my wife's identity?" He asked.

"Well, to be honest we don't know what does a tree meant to her for you. We only asked your wife to send you a clue regarding her identity, so its up for you to decide on who do you think she is." the staff explained.

He then went to ponder based on what a tree could be. Is she a tree hugger? Is that a tree she previously planted? She likes pine trees? But to be rational, he then sorted out the prospects based on the intro-episode released. Hyojoo-noona, Irene-noona, Nayeon-ssi, and Jisoo-ssi are the participants this year. Which among these girls would have a connection towards trees? Or at least would most likely to give an identity clue of a tree?

Taehyung sighed then looked to the camera near him. "Namjoon-hyung, if you are watching, these are the moments where I need that brain of yours to investigate who my wife is with just a tree as a clue." He then turned to the staff and asked "Can I call my dad to ask him some advice on what to give a girl in general?" However the staff denied his request so he sighed further to which the staff chuckled. He then went back to pondering over his thoughts.

After a few minutes, the staff then asked "Since we are now nearing the destination, what gift would you like to get for your wife with a budget of 120,000 won?".

A smug smile then went to his face "I wont buy her a gift". He declared to which a confused staff was staring. He then continued explaining "I'll buy her a gift after knowing her. I'll use that money for our first date or for some other time. I would like to know her first so that I could give her something meaningful and something she'd like."

The staff smiled hearing such genuine remarks from the boy. The driver was then directed to proceed to the location directly as no stopovers will be made. Along the way, Taehyung was getting nervous and curious on how will the events turn out later as he was hoping he made the right decision.

Gangnam Maze Park- 12:30 PM

By the time they arrived, Taehyung was perplexed by the loud music playing outside at the park. He then noticed that the music playing was Twice's Likey, which he was captured shock by the staff.

As he got down from the van, he began dancing to the music as he tries to calm himself before meeting his wife. "Waaah how does a tree relates to Nayeon-ssi?" He said while dancing towards the cameraman. However, he stopped dancing when a different music played, and it wasn't of Twice but rather Red Velvet's Power Up.

Standing confused, Taehyung was then approached by the staff to give him a map of the maze and a note. The note contained instructions on getting to the end of the maze to meet his wife. There would be two challenges scattered for him to pass through the maze. After clearing a challenge, he'll be given a clue brought by the producers on his wife's identity. He then turned to the camera following him as he begins the maze "Let's get it!".

Arriving at the station of his first challenge, Taehyung found a staffman that tells him that his challenge is to get 3 correct answers in a game of Capitals.

"Philippines?" "Manila".
"Germany?" "Berlin".
"Singapore?" "Singapore".

With only three tries, Taehyung had impressed the staffman on his ability to pull off the challenge with three consecutive correct answers in less than a minute. Taehyung then received his second clue of his wife's identity which is a picture of an in-ear piece. The only thing that the clue had helped him is that he is more than sure that she's an idol which rules Han Hyo Joo out of the picture. However, with the music shifting from the different girl groups that the other participants belong to, he still can't seem to pinpoint which among the three. He smed then turned to the camera to say "So my wife's an idol like me huh?". However, he then turned to the staff "Or? Are you guys trying to trick me into thinking she's an idol when she's not? Hmmm". Afterwards, he danced to the music playing which is Blackpink's Kill This Love.

Moving forward along the maze, after a series of turns, he then arrived at the last station for his last challenge. The staffman came forward and told him that the final challenge would be kicking a ball afloat for 15 consecutive times. Unlike the challenge earlier, the challenge at hand gave Taehyung a little hard time adjusting given his choice of footwear for the day which is leather loafers. After a few tries, he then succeeded and was given a final clue. The final clue was a picture of a bottle. Confused at first but the pieces then seem to get together in his mind. A smile then crept into his face as he already felt that he knew who she is. And as he hoped that his gut feeling is right, he then fasten his pace to get to the end of the maze to meet her.

As he approached the end of the maze, he can see the back of his wife's figure- a woman wearing a beret with a black coat sitting on a bench facing the river while seeming to balance a bottle on her head. Feeling giddy and all, his nerves began to kick in. With the fact that he's about to meet his wife with the gut feeling that he knows her is wriggling on into him. He then slowered his pace to compose himself as he approach her.

Half of him is hoping that his intuition is right. That his guess on his wife's identity is correct based on the clues given to him. The tree, in-earpiece,and the bottle. However, half of him is hoping that he's wrong. As much as he wanted it to be her, he worries that he might not be the guy that the girl very much deserves. Nevertheless, the former outweighs the latter.

After a few slow paces, he then reached his wife. However, he just stood still behind the bench she's sitting on. Frozen on how to act and was filled with thoughts on what to do, he seemingly was frozen and was just staring at her back. After he took his breath out, he finally made a move towards her.

He tapped her shoulder and uttered: "Jisoo-ssi?". And to his surprise, a warm smile was returned to him as she turned to face him. "I see it took you awhile, huh. V-ssi."
