December 1st, 2019

It was finally time to embrace the holiday cheer. Little kids outside, playing in the snow, making snowmen, having snowball fights. Parents decorating their homes for people to admire as they drove by. The smell of burning wood and ginger bread began to fill the air. It was the perfect time of year.

Christmas.

Of course, Hyojin had already started to decorate as well. Mainly because this would be her first Christmas with her boyfriend, Hoseok. She moved around the rooms, setting up small things here and there. Christmas music filled the house, the smell of coffee and chocolate chip cookies accompanying it as well. Hyojin wanted to make sure everything was perfect. After setting up the tinsel and lights to show off the mantel, she made her way to the kitchen. She made a small cup of coffee, sitting at the table to work on her letter board.

Hyojin went through the list of ideas she had gotten from Pinterest, hoping something would catch her eye. Ten minutes went by and she finally decided on one. It was a Winnie the Pooh quote.

'Christmas is a togethery sort of holiday' said Pooh
'That's my favorite kind.' Said Piglet

Perfect. She thought. Getting up, she went and gently place the letter board on top of the mantle to have it accompany the rest of the decorations. Just in time too, because as soon as she lit the candle, the door opened. The cold air rushing in is what caught her attention. Turning her head, she smiled widely.

"Hoseok!" She gushed, hurrying to greet the other.

"Hey, -." He chuckled at her excitement.

"How was work?" She tilted her head in curiosity.

"It was fine, just as it normally is." he laughed softly as he hung up his jacket. "What smells so good?" He asked softly, sniffling the air.

"Your favorite. Double chocolate chip cookies." She assured him. His eyes lit up in excitement, hurrying to the kitchen. Hyojin rolled her eyes playfully as she scurried after him. "You seem more excited about the cookies than seeing me." She teased softly.

"Oh no, I'm excited to see you, but..." He trailed off, giving her a cheeky smile, "I really love your cookies." He admitted.

Hyojin nodded, getting the oven mitts. She pulled out the tray, gently setting it to cool. "How about this, you help me finish decorating, and then we can eat cookies." She bargained. Hoseok agreed, following her to the living room.

After about an hour of them getting their tree up, getting the ornaments neatly placed on the tree. They soon got the lights and remaining tinsel around the tree, stepping back, the admired their work. Hyojin leaned against Hoseok, sighing happily. She looked up to him, glancing over his features in the slight light illumination. He gazed back to her, smiling softly.

"How about we get a plate of cookies, some milk, and watch a movie?" Hoseok asked curiously. - nodded in agreement.

"I love that idea." She sighed happily.

Hoseok went and collected the cookies, brining them into the living room. Hyojin followed his lead, getting two glasses of milk. She made sure to get their warmest blanket, setting back on the couch with the other. Hoseok instinctively pulled her close, turning on 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas'.  Everything seemed at peace with world, it was as if they were exactly where they needed to be.

"I love you." Hoseok murmured softly.

"I love you too." She responded softly, curling up more into his side.

This was going the be the perfect first Christmas.
