Katherine's Loss

Clark walked into the hospital room, she looked over at him when he entered the room.
"Hey." She said smiling at him.
"Well hello there." He said happy to see her awake for once during a visit.
"Physical therapist just left, as long as I promise to keep up with my therapy I can go home soon."
"Really?" He asked with a smile. He missed having her at home. He turned when a new person entered the room.
"Sorry, just coming in to get reading like I do daily."
"Ok." Clark said. Katherine looked at the newcomer oddly.

Katherine had finally been released from the hospital, she walked with a cane for now, but it wasnt going to be all calm in her world. Clark took her with him to work.
"Hi Lois."
"Hi Katherine, it's good to see you out and about."
"Yeah Clark decided to have me come here for a little while, he said I could help you look for Chloe, she took off?"
"Yeah we've been looking for two weeks now."
"How is Jimmy taking it?"
"Not well. His wife left him."
They both looked up at Tess walked in, Katherine knew that Lois absolutely hated Tess.
"I haven't fired you yet?"
"I'm not here to deal with you. I am looking for Chloe."
"I doubt she's here."
Katherine stepped back as they began to fight, she knew that as a military brat Lois could hold her own, Katherine dropped her cane when Lois was knocked over the desk and stepped between her and Tess, she punched Tess knocking her out.  She turned and reached down and touched Lois just as Lois touched a gold ring.

Clark caught the train as it fell from the tracks and when he looked inside he saw Lois and Katherine. He set the train down and waited a moment when he saw her start to wake he took off. Katherine looked around and turned and reached for Lois.
"What happened?"
"Good question. Let's get out of here." She said taking Katherine by the hand and hurring from the train. Katherine was confused but followed her.
"Where do we go?"
"No idea. Anywhere but here. You walking ok?"
"Yeah, leg hurts a little but I can deal with it later. Come on let's go." Katherine said, they both decided to head to the hospital to be checked.
"Lois I am going to go to the farm and see if I can find Clark."
"He's gone, hasn't been seen since that creature was killed."
"What?"
"I'm sorry Kat." Chloe said walking up to them. Katherine looked toward the floor and stood.
"I have to go."
"Kat?"
"Leave me alone." Katherine said walking away from them. Chloe watched her walk away.
"You going to follow her?"
"Not if I want to keep living no. She's upset that means she will hurt someone. She will be fine. Come on you can come back to my place."

Katherine arrived at the farm, she didn't know where else to go. She walked inside the house, not even bothering to go into the barn. The dog met her happily inside.
"Hey Shelby." She said leaning down and giving the dog some love. She looked around the dark house, she could see that no one had been staying there there was dust everywhere. She walked in and sat down on the couch, tears rolled down her cheeks as she felt the dog get closer to her.
"Where are you?" She said, he was gone and she didn't even know why. She curled up on the couch grabbed the blanket and cried herself to sleep.

Clark was fighting someone in the barn he didnt even know she was inside, and when Chloe arrived and expected him to use to ring to go back to the past and save Jimmy and he refused she got angry. Neither knew Katherine was inside the house. Clark watched as his friend turned and left him alone in the barn, he needed to check on the dog and head back to his training. He entered the house, but the dog didnt come running like he had expected so he walked further into the house and found out why. Katherine was asleep on the couch and Shelby was sitting by her side. He walked in and knelt down next to her, his hand slowly and gently moving over her face wiping the tears away from her face.
"I've missed you." He said. He leaned down and kissed her cheek and left the house.
