"Cedar, why does it hurt whenever I move?" Pepper asked Cedar. Cedar was a tan bird who slept a lot. "There's a lot of thorns in this bush. Don't stab yourself, or me." Cedar said, half asleep. Pepper smacked Cedar. "If you fall asleep you'll fall out of this bush, and if you fall out you might stab yourself or fall on the highway."
What the heck is a highway, thought Cedar. "Hey pepper," Cedar started, but Pepper interrupted. "You forgot to capitalize my name."
"Pepper, what's a highway?"
"Ask Joe." Pepper mumbled.
"What's Joe?" Cedar asked.
"Don't you mean who's Joe?"
"jOE MAMA," Cedar screeched at the top of his lungs, and flew straight into the highway. The highway was swarming with cars, and Cedar quickly flew out of Pepper's eyesight. Pepper flew out of the bush. He scanned the roads for Cedar, thinking Cedar's bright wings would be distinct, but they sure weren't. Pepper only wanted to find Cedar so that he could beat him up.
*Cedar's pov*
Geez, it's only the first chapter and I'm already dying.
I was stuck in traffic. Just like, wedged in between cars and stuff. Being a bird sucks, but it's probably better than being a human. Some other birds were talking about humans feeding some birds. Human lives probably suck. They have to succumb to us, feeding us their wheat products. Not like I want them to stop feeding us, their wheat products are cool, but I hope they give us seeds instead.
I see Pepper in the sky, looking down at me. He started diving down, slowly merging into a smear of blue and grey. I close my eyes, expecting to be stabbed by Pepper's beak. When I opened my eyes though, I was in the air and Pepper was carrying me.
*Third-Person pov*
Pepper had Cedar underneath him. Wait, let me reword that. That's gay. Pepper was carrying Cedar while flying. Their flight wasn't exciting. They eventually landed on the top of a building. "Am I in trouble?" Cedar said. Pepper glared at Cedar, but it wasn't menacing enough.
