Chapter 1
THE BEGINNING OF THE END
“Ahhhh!” I screamed waking up out of a dead sleep drenched in cold sweat, in the pitch dark color of my room. I didn’t know what was wrong or what I was doing, it had to have been a nightmare. This didn’t bother me as much though since these dreams have become a regular basis thing. Ever since me and my family had moved into this treacherous house nothing but bad things and unsuspected events have happened. The house stood near the front of the woods and the land almost seemed as old as the house. Which built around the mid 1800’s. So I just sat up, stretched, grabbed my phone and looked at the time. “Two A.M.!” I exclaimed, “I barely just went to bed at twelve.” Screaming straight into my pillow.
Right when I thought I could just turn on some tunes and pass back out I heard a sort of slow knocking noise at my bedroom door. All I thought was that I was too tired and was just hearing things. There was no way it could be anyone because tonight was the first night ever that I have been completely home alone. One of the only bad things about being here alone is that there were no neighbors down the road we lived next to for a while. So if anything happened at all I had no-one to take us to town right at that moment we were screwed waiting half an hour for someone to come, if anyone would come.
The only reason I was here all alone is because, while my entire family wanted to go to the two day carnival, except me they were going to make me go anyway.Until I came up with a glorious idea at the time to fake an illness and while they are gone I could invite some friends over. The faked illness worked great but as soon as they were gone and I called over my friends they ended up ditching me for some stupid senior party. I mean it was
kind of surprising since most of my friends and myself are just freshmen. Also most of us single and have been for a while I had always laughed at the fact that most of our snakes at school were the first people to be taken. We didn’t care because well it was just high school and relationships hardly ever last forever.
Anyways I ignored the noise and just rolled over. As I got comfortable each second the knock got louder and louder where it went from knocking to someone just banging on the door. Then I realized maybe one of my friends did come by and used the key under the big rock on our porch. I got up and turned my ice cold door knob to open it up to nothing. “H-hello?” I asked. Waiting calmly to hear an answer, nothing answered. Until a loud screech came down the hallway floor it was like nails on a chalkboard.
Everything in my mind yelled at me to just go lay back down but I felt as if I needed to investigate the noise. I followed it all the way to the kitchen where then the screeching finally stopped. In the next room to the right was the first out of the two living rooms in the house. The TV turned on and went fuzzy like as if the satellite was down. I walked in there grabbed the remote but the power button didn’t work. “Dang remote must be dead.” hitting it across my hand. Even trying to press the off button on the TV didn’t work so i pulled the plug and it finally turned off.
I sat on my couch and reached down to grab my phone to find it wasn’t in my pocket so i must have left it in my room. Back in my room I had looked everywhere and my phone didn’t seem to be found at all in my room. When I got up from seeing if it fell under my bed I saw a dark shadowy figure in my corner just standing there. It was only about 6 feet tall and its arms were long with hands the shape as knives. Walking towards the figure, “CHHH!” a loud crashing noise sounded like it came from the kitchen. Once I quickly glanced at my door and back at the corner the figured had moved. It didn’t necessarily disappear instead it was right up against me breathing down my face. It moved its hand down the side of my
