Dear Diary,
Started at a new school today, it was interesting. I got lost on my way to my first class
I gasped as I glanced at my watch, I was late to my first class, at a new school. "So much for a good first impression..." I muttered, looking around. I didn't know where I was, this wasn't good. I didn't know my way around the school. Groaning, I began to walk around looking at every classroom.
"1A...no... 1B nope... 1C...not this one either.." I sighed. I looked down a corridor, maybe my classroom was down there. Turning sharply, I strode down the corridor looking at each room. But... none of them were the right one. "Just my luck...." I sighed and looked at the floor, brushing my ginger hair behind my ear, trying to figure out where my class could possibly be.
but I guess I made a new friend thanks to that.
"You lost?" A voice asked. I jumped, not expecting to hear someone. Placing a hand over my chest, in a feeble attempt to calm my racing heart.
"Sheesh, don't scare me like that!" I snapped, before looking up. In front of me stood a girl with short blonde hair, in a bob cut. Her eyes were a dark grey and her skin was neither pale nor tanned, but somewhere in between. She was wearing a dark purple vest under a lime hoodie, and on her legs was a pair of light grey leggings, partially covered by a denim skirt.
"Heh, sorry about that." She laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her neck. "But..uh.... Seriously though, are you lost?" She asked, smiling at me.
"Yeah." I smiled sheepishly.
Her name is Lira, she is really kind.
She grinned and introduced herself and as did I.
"Now, where are you headed?" She asked, swiping my timetable from my hand. Her eyes scanned over the paper at a fast pace. "Aha! You have English first!" She grinned, handing me my timetable. "So do I! Follow me." She chirped, gripping my wrist firmly, dragging me along behind her as she ran to class.I struggled to keep up, stumbling many times.
She helped me find the classroom, but when I arrived things got really awkward. Like, really, really awkward.
We walked into the classroom "Sorry I'm late miss, I was helping the new girl." Lira told the teacher, before skipping to her seat and throwing her bag under the desk.
"Ah, you must be the new student then." The teacher beamed glancing at me. "I'm Miss Woodson, why not introduce yourself to the class."
I didn't mind introducing myself to the class.
I stood at the front and smiled. "Hi everyone, I'm Betty. I love listening to music, reading and drawing. My mum works at a bakery and my dad is a vet, sometimes he'll tell me how his work is going. I'm really looking forward to making lots of new friends!" I looked around the room with a smile on my face, but one person caught my attention, a girl with blonde hair, that looked almost certainly fake, and a pink dress. I walked over to the seat beside Lira and sat down, gesturing to the girl I saw earlier. "Who's she?"
"Huh?" Lira looked where I was pointing. "Oh, that's Lizzy, she's a complete princess who thinks she's better than the rest of us. I'm just waiting for someone to stand up to her."
I nodded and looked down at my work, as Miss Woodson explained the task. We had to write a story about a memory from our childhood.
Lizzy approached me after class...
I began to walk down the corridor with Lira, when I felt a hand tap my shoulder. I looked around to see Lizzy. "Uh..hi?"
"Hey! Why don't we be friends?" She asked. "It's better than being friends with...her kind." She sneered, gesturing to Lira.
I felt my blood boil, Lizzy was clearly a jerk. "I'll have you know, she is a wonderful person, I wish I could say the same for you, but you're just some stuck up snob!"
Lizzy looked stunned, taking a step back, and Lira burst out laughing.
Lizzy snapped her head towards Lira "What's so funny?" She growled, raising her hand to slap LIra. She swung her hand forward and I grabbed her wrist to stop her.
"Don't."
"Why not?" She laughed, pulling her hand from my grasp and trying to slap Lira again, and on instinct I grabbed Lira's wrist and ran before Lizzy could do what she was planning.
Yeah I think I made an enemy.
We stopped outside a classroom to catch out breath, when suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around me. I tensed up and looked at Lira, who was hugging me and jumping up and down. "That. Was. Awesome!" She squealed, making me chuckled.
"It was nothing, I was just standing up for a friend." I smiled, ruffling Lira's hair.
"I'm your friend?" She asked, stepping back.
"Duh!"
I guess starting at a new school wasn't so bad after all. The rest of the day was pretty normal. Well except the end of the day.
Lizzy stormed over to me and glared at me. "Betty is it? You made a terrible mistake, making and enemy of me."
"Have I though?" I smirked, watching her face turn red with anger, as I just laughed. "Now if you don't mind." I turned and walked off, leaving a stumped and confused Lizzy, who was stood still and dazed, not used to people standing up to her. Well she better get used to it.
Anyway, that's all for today, see ya later diary.
