Sorry it's taken so long, guys! I know SiederTreeStudios didn't do the "One Jump Ahead", but I want to try it, so please bear with me, because it's gonna be crud, but I'm going to try anyways. IDK if I'll do all--if any--of the lyrics, tho . . . By the way, Peter is considered a menace, not a hero.
Also, please remember to comment; I love to hear what you think--it make my day 67% better! (You get my reference, I love you!) If you want to vote, I would feel honored, but you don't have to! Anywho, enjoy!!!
Peter Parker sighed happily. "Isn't it a good day to be superhero-ing, Ned?" He said through the comms that connected him to his best friend, Ned Leeds. He leaned over a building, watching the people below. He could hear Ned smile. "Yeah, it is, Pete. But you need to get your head in the game if you wanna be a hero as famous as Iron Man and everyone else. Also, a better reputation would help, too . . ." Ned mused. "Let's just hope there are no more riots against you today."
Peter nodded, before remembering that Ned couldn't see him, given that this was a homemade suit and had no technology on it besides the comms. He quickly agreed. "I hope so, too. Is the hideout secure?"
"Yeah, but dude! Focus! We've got a job to do."
"Right," Peter scolded himself. "Right, right, right." Gazing down at the bustling city, he squited, hazel eyes landing on something in the square. "Wait, I-I think I see something. Looks like a marketplace skirmish. I'm going in to check it out."
"Copy that."
Peter swung down and landed between the fighting duo. One was a woman in a brown jacket, her beautiful dark brown eyes narrowed at her opponent, Mr. Delmar. 'Wait, what?' Peter shook his head. He wasn't here to admire a girl; he was here to stop the fight. Dropping down in between the pair, he put his hands up in a surrender pose. "Hey, woah, woah, woah, guys. Can't we settle this in a civilized manner? There's no need to fight!"
Mr. Delmar snarled. "Get your filthy nose, out of this, street rat!"
Peter cocked his hip in a sassy manner. "C'mon, man. Chill out! What was the dreadful, horrible thing she did?"
Delmar might have missed the sarcasm in his voice, but the girl certainly didn't. She snorted under breath before snapping, "All I did was give a starved child some food!"
The street vendor growled. "Do you really expect me to stand by and let this--this pest take from MY stand?! I have a family to support! I demand some sort of payment!" Delmar's eye caught on the girl's neck--or, more precisely, the black dahlia pendant on the girl's neck. Pointing to it, he demanded, "That."
The girl curled back in horror. "What? No!"
Peter placed his hand on hers. Under his breath, he murmured, "Trust me." Louder, he exclaimed, "Delmar, you've got yourself a deal."
He held his hand out to the young lady, who stared at him with disgust before delicately taking the glass necklace off and placed it gently in his hand. Well, gentle to the necklace, painful to him, because she deliberately scratched through the worn-out material of his suit, red blood beading to the surface of the cut. Delmar snatched the necklace, shoving it into his pocket, and turned around without giving them a second glance.
Peter grabbed the girl's hand and took off, weaving his way through the New York crowd. He counted to five before the girl wretched her hand away, as predicted. She opened her mouth to yell at him, but Peter just held the necklace in front of her face, the pendant dangling in front of her gaping face. She spluttered, "Wha-bu-hu-How?!"
