The bright, Newly-risen winter sun shone above the gently crested hills out side my dirtied window. I blinked, clearing the glaze out of my tired, hazy eyes. The stunning light of the sun set beauty to the snow, leaving the snowflakes to glitter and frolic in its warmth. I raise my fatigued arms and clench my worn hands to rub my sore eyes, and rise gently up from my tattered bed. I try stretched my arms above me, but that dosnt remove the knots my shoulders and back have developed from laboring work in my district. It's a few quick minutes before the cold bite of the outdoor frost reaches my barren arms. I hurry into the shaded, ragged room across the torn hall. I peer into the room, excitement bubbling up inside me as if I was about to erupt. I call out, "Wil, I-" Then my voice falters as I remember. A violent wave of horror and grief overwhelmed me, so deep I tumble to the floor, leaning against the plain white walls of the hallway. And, to think I'd forgotten. Maybe for a second. But the memory hit me like a speeding train.
