Since Lilac didn't remember me I wanted to try and become friends with her again. I wanted to start over.
School got in the way though. I was overwhelmed with work, always studying and doing homework.
I barely got to see Lilac. It was like she didn't exist.
It was Christmas break now. Finally. And since Lilac was my neighbour I could ask her if she wanted to have dinner with my family and I.
I knocked on her door. She answered.
D: Hi Lilac.
L: Hi Diamond, how are you?
D: I'm good.
L: Good.
D: Would you like to come over for Christmas dinner?
L: ...She started crying. I don't know why but it was like a dam was let loose. She cried and cried and cried.
I hugged her and she stopped crying. She sniffled and hugged me back.
L: Sorry, I don't know what happened.
D: It's ok, are you okay?
L: I think so. And to answer your previous question, I will go.
D: Ok. Are you sure you're okay?
L: Yeah, I'm fine.
D: Well okay, see you tomorrow.
L: Yea ok.I don't know what happened to Lilac. Why did she start crying all of a sudden? I hope she's okay.
She came to Christmas dinner. We watched movies, talked about school and it was fun. She seemed like Lilac again. I was just not sure if she was the same Lilac I knew.
She went home. I was still worried about her, wondering if she was okay.
The rest of the school year passed by, I did my external exams (CSEC) and passed with all ones. So did Lilac.
It was time to go to either sixth form or university. I chose to go to sixth form and applied for it. So did Lilac.
That was the end of year 5. I guess we are friends now.
