The new school year finally began, our final year in high school before we went to university.
I couldn't afford to fail anything.
You understood that and said you would support me. You suggested study dates and I was ecstatic. We could spend time together while studying for our finals.
However, you always bailed on me at the last minute. I let it go as you convinced me that you needed to rest. You were always unwell.
My attempts at keeping us together slowly stopped. As a couple, we were suddenly distant. I trusted that you were studying and resting just as hard as I was.
I trusted you.
How naive was I not to see the signs.
