Sparrow woke up, the night had been long, plagued by dreams of cats in the stars. He had been stuck in the twoleg prison for about a quarter moon after the alien-masked twolegs got him. He had 1 friend, or at least he did before they took her away. Poor heron was gone.
But Sparrow was determined, endless hours scheming, plotting his freedom. The star cats had encouraged him to be free, they spoke to him like a long lost relative, they called him Sparrowpaw, and he liked that. It made him feel strong, a warrior, and tommorow he would be free. He waited, he watched and he waited, it was his time for the twoleg to come. He pretended to sleep, then pounced, catching it off guard, then he bolted it for the open door.
The sunlight was blinding. An ethereal light surrounded him, freeing him, returning his instincts to him. And he ran, faster than before, faster than when the twoleg first came for him, and he carried on running. The first night was hard; sleepless, forest sounds surrounded him. He was free at last.
The next dawn at Sun rise he decided that he should explore his new territory, and only then did he realise he hadn't escaped the twolegs yet. About 40 badger lengths to his left was a row of two leg dens. But he new that this was the end of his captivity
