Breathe in the smoke
Exhale clean air
The bridge is burned
But you're still holding onto charred planks
Blackened iron
Burning embers
Stranded on the other side screaming my name
Sending ripples though crowds
Thinking I don't know you're "cursing" my name
And I wonder what you expect from me
Attention?
Apologies?
My undivided loyalty in everything I did with and for you?
But you didn't give me the same
So go on
Keep breathing in the smoke
I know for a fact you'll suffocate yourself before you'll change
I'll be sitting on my side of the bridge
Breathing in fresh air
And I'll down paths and roads
With the friends I've made
And you
You can try and keep yourself warm with the embers that float away
Keep the bridge smoldering
Do as you please
But do me a favor
And learn to let go
Or come talk to me face to face
Or let the embers die in the breeze
Because I know you were the one with the crutches
It wasn't me
Just you
Portraying your insecurities
