Fidgeting with your fingers and trying to smooth out your pencil skirt, you sat in the chairs waiting outside of the office. Your father had tried to score you this job even though you weren't even out of high school yet, but he reassured you that it was simply taking phone calls and scheduling appointments. An easy secretary job, something you get you a little bit of money before you hit college, and the perfect way to spend your summer. Your dad was a businessman and accountant working underneath Urie Incorporated, a contracting company involved in construction and architecture. He was hoping to get you in quickly, but had learned that there was a strict policy that all new interns but go through interviews with the founder's son and CEO of the company, Mr. Urie himself.

"Y/n Jackson?" he stood at the door, beckoning for you to come in. You inhaled a sharp breath. You had never seen him before, and didn't expect him to be nearly that handsome. God.

Taking a deep breath, you got up from your seat, resume in hand, and began to walk towards him as confident as possible. You notice how his eyes slowly travel down your body, drinking you in before letting you enter and then shutting the door behind you. His office was at the top of the building, surrounded by glass windows and blueprints, computer and paperwork scattered on his desk, and a small counter full of drinks at one wall along with sofas. You decide to sit down across from his desk and he sits on the other side.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity to meet with you," you manage to stutter out. "I look forward to serving your company."

"What brings you here today?" he raises an eyebrow after you hand him your manila folder, watching as he delicately holds your resume and peruses your accomplishments.

"My father works as an accountant in the business and was hoping to get me in the door as well. You have a fine company and seeing as I will be going off to college soon in a year or two, I was looking for experience within the business field, even if that is simply being an intern and filing paperwork," you explain. You can't seem to pry your eyes off of his face. His stubble, plump lips, dark eyes, refined look, all dressed up in a suit.

"I was informed that I would most likely be working in communications if accepted." God, you need to keep it together. You take a deep breath and compose yourself. Be confident, have conviction, remember to keep your head held high. You could do this. There was nothing to be afraid of.

"Ah," he presses his lips together at your response, glancing up at you for a moment before returning to your resume. "I thought that you might be Mr. Jackson's daughter. You have several of his features and I do believe he had briefly mentioned hoping to get you into my office for an interview one day." He gives your resume another look before setting the paper down. "However, it says here you have no prior experience."

"And yet you think that you can work for my corporation?" he inquires.

"I'm efficient and hardworking," you insist, feeling a sudden boost of hope. "I may be young, but I assure you I have the capabilities of any of the rest of your interns Mr. Urie."

"I see," he hums. "I like your attitude, your enthusiasm, your confidence. It's rare in a person your age, especially in the presence of a prestigious businessman such as I."

"You don't intimidate me," you lie through your teeth. Yes, he really fucking does. But you need to prove to him that you aren't as nervous and insecure as you seem. Your age has nothing to do with your capabilities.

"I don't?" he looks taken aback by this.

"No," you fib again, swallowing down your anxiety. He gets up from his desk and you bite down on your lower lip, thinking you've just probably screwed this entire thing over. You close my eyes tight as he walks towards you, resume in hand. He's going to give it back to you, tell you that you've kissed your opportunity goodbye, probably tell you that you're way too young.
