We will assign you a partner (or maybe two, depending on how many people join) each week, and you will have to read 1 chapter of their book. You will have to comment a minimum of 2 times, 1 positive and 1 constructive.
A good positive comment looks like: 'I love the imagery in this paragraph as it really helps the reader picture the scene. Your use of words is amazing.'
A bad positive comment looks like: 'omg'.
That's a bad positive comment because it doesn't prove you read the book. Whilst you are welcome to do comments like that, please do some slightly more detailed ones too.
A good constructive comment looks like: 'I think that here, it would be really great if you added some more imagery of the character to help the reader picture them better.'
A bad constructive comment looks like: 'this was so confusing. I didn't understand it at all. I think you should just scrap this part. It's just bad.'
That's bad because you didn't say why it was confusing, and instead of giving a solution, you just told them to get rid of it, which can be really disheartening. When you've spent your time writing something, you don't want to be told to just scrap it.

If you fail to complete this without pre-warning us and giving a valid reason, you will receive a strike. 3 strikes, and you will be removed from the club. That's because it simply isn't fair if your partner has read yours, but you don't read theirs.
If we think your comments are too mean or you aren't doing it properly, you will receive a warning from us. This is not a strike, but if you fail to correct your ways and do the same thing the next week, you will receive a strike.
Basically, 2 warnings = 1 strike.
There will also be a star system. Each week, for completing the reading, you will get a star. The first person to complete it will also receive a star. The person who gives the most helpful, but kind feedback, will also receive a star, and there are many other ways of getting them too.
You can then trade in your stars to receive prizes.
3 stars = a positive comment spam from me and DazzieSh . Whilst we will not actually participate in the club most of the time, in cases like these, we will participate.
5 stars = book of the week. This is a special thing that will only happen if someone trades in their stars. Everyone has to read 1 chapter and comment twice, 1 positive and 1 constructive.
10 stars = a positive comment spam from everyone in the club.
15 stars = book of the month. This is also a very special thing that will only happen if someone trades in their stars. Everyone has to read and comment on 2 chapters, leaving 1 positive comment, and 1 constructive.
20 stars = a full review on 3 chapters of your book, done by me and DazzieSh . We will pm it to you.
