We are supposed to be a team. We are supposed to be the leaders. We are supposed to always have each other's backs. So why is this so hard for many people to do?
Our team counts on us with these three principles. The team that is being referred to is the one who looks up to us as leaders. However, we are far from this image to the ones who are below us. Guidance from someone even further above us only goes so far unless we ensure we are working together.
Working together comes from within each of us. We do this by setting aside our differences and mistakes, and only focusing on the big picture. That big picture is being the leaders who lead by the example we portray. But if we can't even manage this, then how are we to encourage our followers below us to respect us?
Another important word just placed on the table is the word respect. Respect to each other is an important skill we must learn. If one fails to do their part of the task, it should be discussed, and a boundary must be set. However, it does not mean that we argue over a small issue that came about in a sense that we act childish. We must hear the complete story on way we failed to finish our job and what we need to do next time in order to ensure how we become a better leader.
Working together does not always happen in a perfect instance. We are all human and we do make mistakes. That's what makes us beautiful. In fact, this is what leaders show to their team. They make mistakes too and fix them when possible.
