The Sand is Full of Surprises

Short A/N: The picture is random and I hope you enjoy CHAPTER 2!

When the bright light cleared from Karkat's vision, he looked around to see miles and miles of uneven sand. Karkat was teleported back to his childhood home...or close to it at least...by a couple of miles. Despite this, there was a mishap regarding the teleportation. It wasn't just Karkat and Kanaya that got sent here like it was supposed to be. Everyone on the meteor was teleported to this unknown desert.

~Start of Karkat's POV ♋~

Damn you and your stupid magic Aunt Fainzi! Great now we have to walk...I cursed Aunt Fainzi in my thoughts and let out a sigh. I still got my stuff so that's better than last ti- "dude what the fuck??" Said a VERY familiar voice. OH SHIT!- I turn around and see FUCKING DAVE! "STRIDER?! HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET HERE!?" I question clearly panicking.
"dunno man, i was just trying to alchemize some human video games with egderp when there was this light and then i was here" Dave replied weirdly calm. I look around and I see everyone here, not just Dave or Kanaya. I felt my eye twitch again when I got over the anxiety and confusion, growing annoyed again. Great...everyone else is starting to wake up, just my luck.. I sigh frustrated.
"so...karkles you gonna tell me where we are??" Strider questioned.
"WE'RE OBVIOUSLY IN A DESERT FUCKASS!" I answered with annoyed sarcasm. Strider puts his hands up in defense and didn't say anything else.
"Karkat, Why Is Everyone In The Desert With Us?" Asked the now alert Kanaya.
"APPARENTLY AUNT FAINZI HAD PROBLEM WITH HER MAGIC AGAIN..UGH AND NOW EVERYONE IS WITH US AND WE HAVE TO WALK TO THE TOWN!" I say feeling very frustrated. "Hm..I See...We Have No Choice But To Bring Everyone With Us And Tell Her What Happened." Kanaya said.
"who's aunt fainzi???" Strider interrupts confused.
"She's Our 'Aunt' Per Say But Mostly Karkat's 'Aunt'," replied Kanaya. I huff and cross my arms, trying to calm down. Sollux walked up to us with the rest. (I don't know how to do Sollux's text thing ;-; sorry)
"Do you guys know what's going on?" Sollux asked and some of the rest nodded their heads wanting to know the answer as well.
"Since Karkat Is Still Trying To Calm Down, I Will Answer That Question. Mine And Karkat's 'Aunt', Aunt Fainzi, Invited Us To A Quote On Quote "Family Reunion" Today, But I'm Guessing That She Had Problems With Her Teleportation Spell To Teleport Us Here And Teleported You All Here As Well." Kanaya explained. I shake my head and start walking in the direction of the town. "hey, are you alright? You seem a bit stressed out..." Strider said for some reason also following me.
"YEAH! OF COURSE I'M STRESSED! HAVE YOU EVER HAD A RELATIVE TRY AND ONLY GET YOU TO THE PLACE YOU GREW UP IN BUT EVERYONE YOU KNOW FUCKING ENDED UP COMING TOO!? I rant as I continued to walk.
"uh...no...but you should probably just accept what happened and calm down before you blow up or somethin' " Strider says now beside me and nudges me slightly.
I glare at Strider and stay silent.

3rd person

The group trudged through the sand dunes and the heat was getting to them. Equius did the honor of carrying Nepeta on his back.
"Hey when will we get there? We are dying over here!" Vriska asked.
"IN A HOUR AND A HALF...IT HAS ONLY BEEN HALF AN HOUR," informs Karkat.
"HeY dId AnYoNe BrInG a SlImE pIe?" Asked Gamzee lazily.
"I did! Don't worry Gamzee," Jade said.
"This desert is not good for seadwwellers, you know..." Eridan scoffs slightly.
"Oh it's fine Eridan! Think on the bright side! Kanaya brought water canteens," Feferi exclaims nudging Eridan.
Everyone was just kind of talking to each other. Karkat shakes his head and sighs.
"OKAY I GUESS WE COULD TAKE A BREAK NEAR THE RUINS THAT ARE COMING UP" Karkat says.
Just as Karkat said ruins came into view, made out of a type of stone that would have been used for pyramids. Broken walls scatter across the glistening sand as the sun spreads its rays.
"AWESOME!!!!" Shouts John and Jade as they zoom past to a big wall or what is left anyway. Everyone goes to the ruin and relaxes, taking a break. Karkat sat down and so did Travros, Gamzee, Rose, Kanaya, Eridan, Vriska, Sollux, and Terezi. Equius was leaning against the wall while Feferi and Nepeta played hand games together. John, Jade, and Aradia played tag while Dave was just standing around. After 10 minutes Dave plops down next to Karkat.
"so...you used to live here??" Dave asked Karkat.
"UM YEAH...I GREW UP IN THE TOWN WE ARE TRYING TO GET TO, WHY?" Karkat answered slightly confused.
"oh no reason...hey can you tell me more about this place?" Dave said.
"Yes, please tell us more about this place...I'm interested," interrupted Rose.
Dave looked at Rose and muttered "rose...you shouldn't eavesdrop"
"It's fine Dave," Rose replied.
"UM OK...SO I AM GOING TO TELL YOU SOME HISTORY" Karkat sighed and the two looked at Karkat. (For this part I'm going to make Karkat speak in not all text so it's easier)
"Around 460 sweeps ago, the whole place was in a war called the Seven Days of Fire, a kingdom created these things called God Warriors and the God Warriors destroyed almost everything but almost every single warrior died in the process," Karkat spoke. "The Toxic Jungles formed during the Seven Days of Fire causing even more destruction ranging from insect stampedes to spores taking over a town and making a new toxic jungle, also if you breath in the air around a toxic jungle you will die in minutes" Karkat says grimly.
"Woah/woah..." Both Dave and Rose muttered in amazement.
"YEAH...SO THAT IS ALL I'M TE-" Karkat was cut off by the ground shaking. Karkat tenses up and jumps up from his sitting position.
"W-woah!" John tries to keep his balance but fails and falls on his butt.
"What is that?!" Sollux asked.
"Yeah! Why is the ground shaking!?" Feferi agreed visibly concerned. Everyone was either alert, freaking out, and serious or all of the above.
"WOULD EVERYONE SHUT UP! I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS!" Karkat shouted and silence echoed. Karkat narrowed his eyes when the shaking became stronger as if something is coming closer.
"Something doesn't smell or feel right..." Terezi whispered.
"Agreed..." Aradia whispered back.
Karkat was going through all of his knowledge of creatures that could of been out there as fast as he could. All Karkat knew was that it had to be one that could travel underground and huge. The shaking kept getting stronger each second that passed. Karkat's eyes suddenly widen as he realized what it was.
"OH FUCK!!! EVERYBODY RUN!!" Karkat screamed and the rest quickly followed the command.
Everyone started running away and behind them a spot in the sand rose up. The grains of sand burst apart making an explosion and sand flew everywhere, a disfigured animalistic screech rang out into the air.
