Sitting by the window in your apartment, you watched the snow slowly fall to the ground. Families and couples walked the streets below you. Letting out a sigh, your head turned to the clock. You were waiting for your boyfriend, YOHIO, to call you through Skype. The two of you were in separate countries, and very different time zones.

The time difference was always a big problem, it made even a 'good morning' or 'good night' message difficult. There had been a few times where either you or YOHIO had accidently woken the other up because you hadn't realized the time difference. On top of that, YOHIO's sleep schedule was NEVER consistent, that and he was always busy in general.

The sound of your Skype ringtone brought you out of your thoughts. You immediately got up and hurried to your laptop that was on the kitchen counter. After smoothing down your hair and taking a deep breath you answered the call.

"Hello!" You said with a smile. "Hello to you too!" YOHIO replied, "Sorry that I'm a bit late. I got caught up in my work again." YOHIO's eyes showed tiredness, and his hair was somewhat messy. You could easily tell that he had been awake for a long time, and was probably planning to sleep after the call. "How are you?" He asked.

"I'm okay," You answered, "How are you? You look tired." The amount of he sleep was getting has always been a concern of yours. Sometimes he'd tell you that he'd been going to sleep, mainly because you occasionally scold him for overworking himself, only for you to see that he was still awake by posting something a bit later on Twitter or Instagram.

"Yeah, just a little bit." He said, "I'll probably go to sleep after this." He said, shifting in his chair to sit up a bit more. "I've been making progress on my next song. Once it's done, I should be able to sleep more." He did his best to hold back a yawn, but it still came out.

"You know," You started, "You can go to sleep right now if you want to." Even though you wanted to keep talking with him, you knew that it was probably best if he did go to bed. "It's not good for you to stay up for as long as you do."

Brushing the hair out of the front of his face, he gave a small smile. "I don't want to leave you," he said, "After all, we just started our call." Just as you were about to argue, he gave you that special look. That one look that you couldn't say 'no' to. The look that made you partly guilty, and partly made you want to stay forever. It gave you a weird mix of feelings that was tough to describe.

Letting out a sigh as you rolled your eyes you smiled back, "Okay," You said, "I'll stay, but you do need to get some sleep. Seriously, you can't live on coffee." You laughed as you said that last part, knowing that coffee is actually a very big part of his life.

You two spent the next hour talking and laughing. Both of you told stories about things that had happened recently, and whatever future plans the two of you had. However, it was only so long before he needed to go to sleep, and that you needed to get to work.

. : Time Skip: 2 Weeks : .

Christmas Eve was tomorrow, and even though you weren't expecting any company, you were still taking the time to decorate your small apartment. Oddly, and concerningly, you had been hearing less from YOHIO than you usually did. While it worried you, it also seemed to make sense. Christmas was normally a busy time for everyone.

After setting the final pieces of decor onto your wall, you finally sat down. Taking a deep breath, you turned your attention to your phone. You were tempted to message him. You had actually messaged him earlier that day, but he hadn't replied.

Just as you reached for your phone, the Skype ringtone went off again. You quickly answered the phone, "Hello?" You didn't hear a reply at first. But you could hear what was happening in the background; there was a lot of noise from both people and cars.

After a few seconds of silence, you heard his voice, "Hi, _____." He sounded like he was out of breath, almost as if he had been running around. "Are you at your apartment right now?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm at home right now." You replied, "Are you okay?" You asked him. You've never heard him sound like this before, even when he had been rushing around for work... Maybe he was just running late on a meeting he had planned.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine." He said, steadying his breath. "There should be something in the mail coming to you. It's supposed to be there today..." His voice trailed off as you heard a door open in the background. "I have to go, but I'll talk to you in a bit." Before you could say anything else, he hung up.

You were really disappointed that you didn't get a chance to actually speak with him, but at least he had told you that he would call you later. Soon coming to the conclusion that nothing would be happening for a while, you decided that you would get dinner started.

Even though it was just you, you figured that it wasn't a reason to not have a special dinner. Making your way into the kitchen, you turned on the oven on. But, as you started to open the fridge you heard a knock on your door.

"I'm coming!" You called out, shutting the door to the fridge. Whatever YOHIO had sent you must have gotten here. You hurried to the door and opened it slightly, enough to be able to peek out.

You froze. You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Was... Was that really YOHIO? Right outside your door? You slowly opened the door the rest of the way, shock still in your body. Part of you thought that this was some sort of dream.

Once the door was open all the way, you could see him clearly. He was there. He had come all the way to you. Giving you a smile, he held his arms open for a hug. You rushed into his hug, almost knocking him down in the process. He let out a chuckle as he felt you rush into him.

After a minute or so, you stepped back so the two of you were face to face. He reached a hand up to brush the hair that was covering part of your face. Leaning forward, he placed his lips on yours. The sound of a small child's laughter broke the kiss. Looking to the side, you saw your neighbor's kid being pulled into their apartment.

After letting out a laugh of your own, you brought YOHIO into your apartment. You were surprised at how well he had hidden this trip, and that he even had gotten the others, his bandmates, to keep quiet about it as well.

Out of all the Christmases you've had throughout your life, this was definitely the best one, and with the best present.
