They have been riding the car for one hour and half. Bas did not expect the factory to be this far out of the city. They chit chat casually before there is an awkward silence between them inside the luxury car. Bas glances at the small screen on the dashboard. Godt notices that Bas wants to turn on the music player.
"You want to listen to some music?"
"Huh?" Bas is caught red handed. He is blushing.
"Just turn it on"
Bas reaches out his finger and start to choose the music, he looks at the playlist and is feeling shy because the songs are all love songs. Why is he only listening to love songs? Does he only ride his car with his girlfriend? This doesn't help with the awkwardness at all, Bas thought.
"That song is nice to listen on a trip" Godt does not look at him while explaining himself, his voice sounds casual but Bas knows he is feeling a bit shy. Bas giggles.
In the end Bas listens to the music and stares outside through the glass window and glances back at the handsome driver, he gets drowned by his own thoughts when Godt reminds them they have arrived at the factory.
"You better pay attention and record everything." Godt says while they are out of the car, welcomed by the factory staffs.
Bas waves his phone and his notebook while giving an OK smile.
They enter the big production room, it is not that big as what Bas imagined. They are already wearing their masks and wandering around looking at tiny bottles being made.
The staff who accompanied them explains the details about the products and Bas is about to touch one of the tiny bottles before Godt catches his wrist and glares.
"It has been sterilized. Don't just touch anything you see."
"Ah...I am sorry" and follows Godt from behind.
Bas has been tailing from behind, once in a while they will stop and Bas will write down the explanation from the staff, but after some minutes, Bas stops writing. Godt glances at him with a questioning look. Bas gets it right away.
"I have it recorded" flashing his phone proudly. Godt can only gives a side eyeing look and lets it go.
"Isn't it cool?" Bas says excitedly.
"What is cool?" Godt says while they are getting out of the factory building, on the way to their car.
"Having an exclusive amenities factory. Like, all the styles and scents, even the bottles have their own styles exclusively custom made for our hotel..."
Godt looks at Bas, waiting. Because he knows Bas hasn't finished yet.
"You know... My mom has this collection of amenity bottle from every hotel she visited. Those bottles aren't just bottles, those might hold memories of her staying or probably a lot of things, moments. Those can very well represent the hotel characteristics like seeing it will remind you of this certain hotel or this certain company. Or probably a married couple be reminded of their honeymoon stay or wedding anniversary, birthdays or trips."
Godt smiles and nods. "You have a deep sentiment."
They have been driving for twenty minutes when there's a continuous alarm on Godt's phone.
"What is it?" Bas asks curiously.
"Traffic alert."
"It sounds so serious." He glances at Godt's phone.
"It means there's a heavy traffic ahead and it's trying to tell me to make a u-turn."
