AURELIA ARRIVES IN history of magic with just enough time left before Binns could call her out for being late. She's out of breath from running all the way there and her hair is half brushed. She composes herself as quickly and as best as she possibly can, seeing as about the entirety of the class was staring at her as she took her seat next to Lyric Johansson, her dorm mate and self-appointed best friend. "So, you never came back to the dorm. Or to breakfast? Where were you?" Lyric gives her a knowing smirk. Aurelia takes a moment to miss her abandoned classroom, James Potter there or not because she does not think she can do the whole questions and answers thing.
There were not a lot of reasons for a student to not come back to their dorm, in fact there were usually three main contenders. The first being the obvious, a shag because despite the many rules attempted to be placed against such, students disobeyed happily. The next was injury which was far too common in Hogwarts for no one to not truly be worried. The last was death because it seemed more logical than anything else. Unfortunately for Aurelia, she was neither dead nor in the hospital wing so that left people with one big correct guess.
"I was with Sirius." She confirms, withholding information on purpose, not meeting her friend's eye. She wishes sometimes that she befriended more Ravenclaws or Hufflepuffs or just anyone who could take hints the way most Gryffindors could not because her confirmation simply egged Lyric on.
Lyric lets out a whispered squeal of excitement, the witch hardly able to contain herself. "Oh my gosh! How was it? I just, I have to know." Aurelia bites the inside of her cheek, thinking hard on what she was about to say because a part of her wanted to tell Lyric tp bugger off, but a bigger part of her wanted to say–
"You can go find out for yourself, Sirius and I broke up."
A gasp. "No! What? Why?" She asks immediately. When she notices her volume, she looks to see if Binns, who was still taking roll for what felt like it had been a century, had paid her any mind. Lyric rolled her eyes at the ghost who didn't say a single name correctly.
Aurelia shrugs, having not thought as far as explaining after dropping her bomb. It was random on Sirius' part and his reason was an absolute load of hippogriff shit. "He said that 'he wasn't good at relationships' so he didn't think we'd work out." Lyric scoffs and shakes her head. She pauses and looks over at her blonde haired friend.
"So wait, you two..?" She trails off the question, knowing Aurelia knew what she was saying. Aurelia purses her lips and nods. Another gasp. "So he just- he just- then broke up with you!" Lyric whisper-shouts. "That absolute arse, I can't believe him, who does that! I thought he was so much better than that!" She fumbles over her words in anger. Aurelia shrugs again and begins blindly writing down whatever Binns is saying.
She could feel Lyric staring so she gets it over with and explains further. "I don't know what happened Ricki, one minute we were saying I love you and then-" Aurelia is cut off with another gasp from the other girl, which she was starting to think she would have to get checked out, and a book dropping off the table. Some kid that was actually paying attention shushed them.
Aurelia drops her head to protect herself from the attention that had turned towards them. She glares at Lyric who pays her no mind, still gaping at her. "Sirius Black, the Sirius Black told you he loved you?" She whispers in disbelief. "I didn't think he was capable of saying that to anyone else but Potter" Aurelia begins to snicker slightly, not being able to help herself. "I'm serious Ria! That's a big deal. Sirius doesn't seem like the 'I Love You' type" Aurelia's snickering has ceased and a furrowed expression settles on her face instead. She really didn't wish to think about the rarity of last night's events. It only made her think about how she was so much of a challenge that he had to 'bring out the big guns.' She straightens her posture and shakes her head.
