Summary: Roman and Y/N have always been close, each of them hiding their true feelings from each other but what happens when Bray Wyatt targets Roman's daughter?
Roman Reigns was pissed off, to say the least as he watched Bray Wyatt on the TV screen talking to him about how Roman didn't deserve anything he had and how he was going to end Roman by taking everything he loved from him. Most would think they were just words but the air was sucked out of the room as Bray Wyatt held up a picture of Roman Reigns and his daughter Jojo, playing tea party. Y/N had just finished zipping up her hoodie when Bray started singing to the picture. Y/N could have sworn she felt her heart stop as she watched the screen, the camera now pointed to Roman who was struggling to hide the fear, knowing that Bray's target was now his 8-year-old daughter. As soon as the camera cut Y/N ran out of her dressing room straight to her cousin, Dean Ambrose's dressing room where she knew Dean was supposed to be watching Jojo while she showered. Y/N burst through the door, scaring the two people in the room. Y/N breathed a sigh of relief as she found the two coloring together.
"What a graceful entrance." Dean sassed but quickly shut up when he saw the worry in Y/N's eyes. "Sorry." Y/N mumbled and grabbed a bottle of water off the table. "What's wrong?" Dean asked. "I'll tell you later." was all Y/N was able to say before Jojo spoke up. "Is daddy ok?" she asked. "Yes, honey. Daddy is fine, he will be here in about..." Y/N said as she looked down at her watch it had been almost two minutes since the end of the segment and Y/N knew it would take him about that long to get from the ring to the locker room area. "In three, two, one." and with that, they found Roman nearly bursting through the door. His chest was heaving up and down from anger and from running backstage with his wet hair sticking to his forehead.
"It's creepy how you do that." Said Dean making (Y/N) smile.
"Daddy." Jojo said with joy as she ran into her father's arms. "Sweetheart," he said and held her close, giving all of the two others a knowing look.
It wasn't till back at the hotel after Roman had finally put Jojo down for bed was when the three could actually talk about what to do. Dean was full of rage toward Wyatt, wondering how sick does someone would have to be to go after a daughter to get to the father.
"I wanna say this could just be an empty threat but with how sick and twisted Wyatt is along with the rest of his family, we need to expect the worst." Y/N said making the two men nod their head in agreement. "One of us will be with her at all times. We can even make sure that the McMahons schedule our matches accordingly so at least one of us can be with here." Dean reassured his brother who had dangerously quiet. "Even if they don't I can forfeit my matches, to make sure I can be there while you guys get ready for yours." Y/N suggested causing both men to look at her like she was crazy. "Y/N." Dean said but was cut off "It's just for the time being, Dean. It will be okay." she told him. "Y/N... I can't ask you to do that." Roman told her. Y/N shook her head. "You're not. It's my choice and I'll do it whether you want me to or not. That little girl means more to me than any amount of championships." Y/N stated.
Y/N was closing in on her chance to get a shot at the women's championship against one of her good friends Nikki Bella but right now all that mattered to her was keeping her family safe.
Roman could see the look in Y/N's eyes, it was one he had seen many times before. The look of determination, was a fiery look, one that showed she was going to reach her goal, no matter what the cost and right now her goal was to protect his daughter. Roman couldn't help but feel his heartbeat just a little bit faster around her. But guilty knowing he was putting her in danger and potentially putting her title shot at risk but he knew there was no arguing with Y/N not that he could say no to her anyway.
Over the last few years, Y/N had found a path into Roman's heart and with the way that she looked after and loved Jojo, he knew she would always have a place in his heart no matter what.
