When Isabelle's eyes opened, there was something on her. It was heavy. She quickly realised who it was and pushed it away.
Her heart jumped when she realised that it was the man who was mugging her.
With three holes in his chest.Oh god.
Isabelle's head snapped up when she heard sirens coming closer and closer. The woman with the dog screamed and her dog was barking aggressively. The woman and Isabelle made eye contact and quickly realized that she saw her face.
Isabelle turned around and fled into the forest. Her heart was beating loudly in her chest as the barking became fainter and fainter. The only sounds she could hear were the sirens behind her and her feet making contact with the dry leaves on the ground.
Isabelle was terrified, she has never killed anyone in her life. She wasn't planning too. She finally reached the familiar route in the forest that led to her home but she didn't stop. She ran and ran until all she heard were the hooting of the owls watching her in the trees. She only stopped when a tree root tripped her and she fell to the ground hard.
Isabelle slowly sat up. Everything that just happened happened too fast. Isabelle was terrified. She couldn't get the look of the woman's face out of her head. She couldn't get the dead man's face out of her either. A sob broke out of her.
And another.
Then another.
Until she was crying in the middle of the forest. Sobbing her heart out. Isabelle stopped when she heard the faint sounds of sirens but those sirens were not coming from the park. They were coming from the direction of her home.
She stood to her feet and her doubts were confirmed when she saw the rays of blue and red illuminating the dark sky above. Isabelle's heart jumped to her throat.
Oh no.
She ran. Following the flashing lights and sirens. She stopped at a bush just showing the back yard of her house. She gasped, there were police cars and ambulances surrounding her house. First, she didn't want to go thinking the cops have finally found her but decided against it jumping out of the bush when she saw them pushing her mother on a gurney.
"MOM!" She ran into the crowd of police and paramedics. She was just about to run to the ambulance they were putting her mother when arms stopped her.
"Miss, you can't go though." The cop told her.
"Let Me Go!" She struggled against his grip, "That's My Mom!" His grip loosened and she broke free running towards her mom.
"Mom!" She looked at her mom who was convulsing violently on the gurney. The paramedics were in a hurry, putting her in the ambulance. Isabelle didn't even need to ask, she jumped in sitting next to her mom who was still convulsing, "Mom, please!" Tears streamed down her face as she watched her mother suffer.
The two paramedics with her were trying to assist her mom in any way they could but the convulsion didn't cease.
Before Isabelle knew it, they were at the hospital and other doctor and nurses ran out of the hospital to help her mom. Rolling the gurney through the brightly lit hall towards a emergency room.
Isabelle wanted to enter the emergency room when Dr. Jesse stopped her. "You can't go in there, Isabelle."
Isabelle went through him struggling to reach the door but even though Dr. Jesse was an old man, he still managed to stop her, "Isabelle." He said sternly.
"Why not?! Why can't I see her?!" Isabelle yelled, tears streaming down her face.
"They are trying everything they can. If you're in there, they'll be distracted. I'm even supposed to be in there."
