A small baby lay in her father's arms, both were resting peacefully on the couch of the apartment. Lia stood in the doorway of the bedroom looking over the two, a deep frown on her face and brows furrowed. What wastes of space. Hopefully the girl would grow up to be successful enough to become a meister at the academy. If not Lia had time to find another candidate, she did have a longer life than humans. She would have to go into hiding for a while but anything to knock that obnoxious reaper off of his throne.
Her plan would be set in motion that night, an unsuspecting house fire will set the whole apartment building ablaze and the cause would be undetermined and most importantly Boris wouldn't live to rat her out, he would be asleep. Until then she would have to be a happy wife and mother to her dearest Boris and Nervia.

"Peekaboo!" Boris uncovered the babies eyes, a heavy Slavic accent shining through his words. The baby gurgled happily grabbing on to her dad's hands and pulling them closer to her, something she would do when she wanted to be picked up. Boris laughed softly lifting the baby up and close to him, bouncing the girl up and down. He dipped her every once in a while, earning a squeal of excitement from Nervia.
A happy family. Something Boris never thought he wanted or expected, but was content with nonetheless. How could he not be? The combination of him and the one he loved the most was right there in his arms, happy and healthy.
"Andrei is going to love you little one, don't let his grumpy face fool you," Boris poked the babies nose and scrunched his own playfully. Nervia giggled scrunching up her nose and leaning onto the man's shoulder drooling on him slightly. A light and airy laugh came from behind him.
"Andrei is not going to like her drooling over him," Lia stretched and walked over to the two, gently leaning Nervia's head back and smiling down at the baby. Boris pushed Nervia closer to her mom as if to offer the woman a chance to hold her, which Lia declined. Nervia looked at her mom and scrunched her nose up just as she did with her dad a few moments, giggling shortly after and resting her head back on her dad's shoulder. “What a heartbreaker your going to be when you grow up,” Lia patted the child's head placing a gentle kiss on it.
“Hopefully not ours though,” Boris pouted bouncing the baby again, rubbing circles in her back. “She’ll be a good daughter I know it,”

Lia was now holding the baby in her arms. How lovely it will be when she sees Boris’s face twisted in the grief of betrayal, when this little bit of flesh grows up and destroys the academy from the inside. And all because their hopeless little meister fell in love with a witch and didn’t have half a brain to notice it. Really what was that soul perception for if they couldn’t tell a witch from a human because of one simple spell? Pitiful in her opinion.
“I’m happy I decided to spend my life with you, Lia,” Boris said from across the living room. The man had settled into one of the couches, tired from taking care of the fairly energetic baby. “Truely,”
“I am as well dearest,” Lia smiled, looking at the paler man. How easy it was to make him love her and come to her every beck and call. Boris, one of the Russian branches finest meisters, was completely wrapped around her finger.
