Kelsey's POV
"Nia I swear to god if you guys aren't here by 6:30 tonight, I will take off whatever I'm wearing and get back into bed." I threatened before hopping out of the car.
"6:30 on the dot." She saluted before pulling her shades over her eyes.
She backed out of my drive way and took off. I unlocked the front door to the house and went in. Mom's car is here but she might be out with Henry.
I haven't spoken to her since the night before last. The Henry incident.
"Kelsey?" I heard her call from upstairs.
No Henry? Wow...surprise...surprise.
"Yeah." I called.
Moment later I heard her footsteps treading down the stairs. She appeared in her her robe and slippers, her hair thrown in a messy bun. She'd probably just woken up not too long ago.
"Hi." She greeted.
"Morning. "Before you ask...I stayed over Nia's last night." I said quickly.
"I know. "But next time shoot me a text or something ok?"
"Ok." I nodded.
"Kelsey." She called as I began to walk to the kitchen.
I turned to look at her, waiting for her to speak.
"We need to talk." She said, gesturing towards the couch.
She sat first then I sat at the other end of the couch, facing her.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Us." She said.
"What about us?"
"Why don't we get along anymore?"
"Oh mom." I groaned.
"You can't convince me otherwise, look at us."
Was she really so blinded? There was only one possible explanation for this.
"I don't know mom. "Maybe our schedules are just too different."
"We hardly even see each other."
"I wonder why." I mumbled.
"Kelsey."
"What."
"If there's something you want to say then just say it." She said, looking at me with pleading eyes.
I sighed. I wasn't doing this...not with her...not now.
"Maybe our schedules are too different." She says.
"I literally just said that mom."
"Well lets do something." She suggests.
I raise my eyebrows waiting for her to speak.
"I know." She smiled. "Let's go grocery shopping."
"Mom." I groaned.
"Come on, you used to love going grocery shopping."
"Yeah, when I was like 13."
"Oh come on. "Please." She pleaded.
She attempted puppy dog eyes which made me laugh a little.
"Ok. "I just need to change first."
After she'd gone to her room to put some clothes on, I did the same. I just threw on a pair of biker shorts, a T-shirt and black Nikes. I searched for my earphones so I wouldn't have to listen to her blab about Henry the entire time.
