My Story

Why are we always judged,

By what we never say?

Is it so wrong to save your voice,

For another day?

Why do people jump to conclusions,

Before they really know?

We mean no harm, we don't want a fight,

But they're forcing us to defend our right,

Forcing us to do what we know.

Why am I always judged,

When I be nothing other than what I am?

Is it so wrong that I save my voice,

So that no one gets hurt today?

Why do you jump to conclusions,

When you don't even know my story?

You only know my name.

You only know what you've been told.

What you've been told makes you afraid.

Don't believe everything you hear.

I am a person, I can be hurt, I am mortal

You are just a person, whose words hurt, those words are immortal.

I am judged.

You think you know me.

But you only know my name.

You know nothing about my story.
