It was a day like no other. It's my favorite yet worst day of my life. It was the day he confessed to me.
"I-I have something to tell you." Maru and I were behind the bleachers of a small field. It hid us from everyone else from afar, but we could be seen up close, but no one usually came up to the old bleachers.
"Are you okay? You seem a little nervous."
"Ye-yeah I just wanted you to know, you're my best friend..."
"Was that so hard to say?"
"N-no..."
Maru was blushing at this point. I already knew what was coming, but I still wanted to hear him say it. I wanted to feel the relief knowing he felt the same way.
"I like you..."
"I know that Maru. We've been friends since we were five."
"No I-I mean "like" like you..."
"You mean love?"
At this point, I noticed some kid from far away that sure enough had heard what Maru and I had just said to each other, but I didn't tell him. That's when it started. That was the moment. The best worst day of my life.
