"If I caculated it correctly we have about....two days of food. Tomorrow we should go to the store we passed about 20 miles back. Pick up some food, get some back-up cars and shit. I don't think driving down the road in the truck would be wise. I would waste a lot of gas, attract a lot of attention and if anyone saw it...well they'd probably think we're doing better than we actually are and jump us." André let out a small chuckle "I remember when thats all we had to worry about. Anyways we should hang out here for the day, maybe comb over the place a little better. I saw a cellar door round back, maybe search the cellar for food and supplies, just see what this place has to offer for us. See if we can consider it a home."

"I agree. I think staying here and setting up is a good idea, if this place isn't right for us then we can go to the store, pick up some food and move on, whats the point of getting a lot of food and seeds for plants if we are not gonna stay here, lugging around all that weight for no reason. I like this idea." Opal, for once, agreed with Andr'e before I did. It must have been a good idea then.

Make sure it was safe. Number one rule of the zombie appocalypse, make sure your base is secure.

"Umm...André..." Opal continued "You didn't happen to see if there was a pharmacy or drugstore near the Wal-mart or whatever it is that you saw?"

"No...I wasn't really looking, to be honest the only reason I saw the Wal-mart was because there was a trashed tank in the road and I had to drive through the parking lot to get around the wreckage and not hit the debris. Maybe...Wal-marts have a pharmacy in them...also depends how many times its been raided. Why? Can't you find tampons in the isles." And he burst into laughter. It wasn't that funny really. I was kind of ashamed of him for that one. Figures...only André would make a period joke in the mess that we're in...

"Just forget I asked..." Opal didn't even try to make a comeback. Something was wrong.

"Umm before either of you say something you'll regret can we eat breakfast, I'm starving." I didn't want a huge fight to occur and I really was hungry, I was even tempted to eat the Ill.

André looked me in the eyes and gave me a seriously? look, but I was starving, I hadn't eaten since  yesterday at noon. It was our third day here, we spent a lot of yesterday making the area safe, boarding up windows and setting a look out position from the roof. André discovered the cellar near the end of the day but heard a bunch of bumping and movement and didn't want to go down there when he sunlight was dying, God knew if there were any lights down there. He told me last night by the waters where we swam again, it was André's shift so Opal still has no idea about us leaving at night. We planned to inform Opal today after spent the first few moments of light moving things into the room. A clock to tell time, a fridge for our food. And of course we started preparing other rooms for us, so we could have our own rooms. Privacy. We planned to go find a Home Depo or a Home Hardware store so we could cut holes in the wall, plaster it over sand it nicely, then add a door over it so we wouldn't have to go outside to get to each other in case of an emergency. We had the main room which we would move the bed out of later and use it as a Hub. A living room like place, where we would eat, keep watch at night if it wasn't too cold outside on the roof, we were going to add a roof acess in the closet aswell. But for now it was where we were going to be.

André went to the fridge and put all our food on the coffee table from the main office. "Okay, from what we brought with us we have...A pack of dried apples, I think I'll take those, an energy bar, a pouch of apple juice-"

"I want" Opal said snatching the food from the pile.

Opal and André continued picking over the food, even though I was the one who said I was starving I let them have first pick over what we had. Its only fair. I can't just take whatever I want cuz they look to me as a leader. I'm sure whatever is left will be fine, and I always have my backups in my backpack. I had a chocolate bar that I nibbled on from time to time, it was close to expiring but there was only a little bit left from me eating it, a can of pop-Ahhh Pepsi, I will miss you-a chipbag, the size you'd give out for halloween, a can of chilli, and some canned peaches. Hmmm I think I need to empty out some of that food, the chocolate is gonna be gone soon...I don't need the chips. I'll put them in the pile. It's not breakfast but its food. Ugh are they done yet? I'm starving! I had been ignoring them as they broke out into a fight over a can of fruit or something, I really couldn't have cared less. "Guys, you done yet? I'm starving"
