She was finally free. There was no one to tell her what to do anymore. No more stuffy gowns, or tedious get togethers with annoying privileged children.

No, that was all behind her now. There was a whole world to explore and experience. People and cultures to meet and learn about.

All this excitement raced through her thoughts, while her face continued to hold a seeming tired and bored expression. The bottom of her dress was caked with sand, and her blonde hair was dripping wet. She wiggled her toes, feeling the sand in a way she had never felt it before.

"You're obviously not from around here, are you?"

Her face snapped up and her face gave little surprise, dark eyes wider than usual.

"Well?"

"You don't seem to be from around here either, as you're wearing that ridiculous thick jacket when it's clearly hot and humid," she snapped, quickly studying the boy's features. He was barely taller than her, with extremely pale skin and eyes. His hair was to most peculiar thing, fair but dark at the tips.

"Ouch, you're pretty sharp aren't ya? Well, I'm Ahrinek, and I'm one of the Haniaip people. What about you?" He had a rather toothy grin, one that was slightly irritating.

"My name is Tynene. I'm of the Meridre people."

"Haha, very funny, but since we all know that the Meridre people were massacred, why don't you tell what people you really belong to?"

"Does it really matter, or do you feel the need to confine everyone into labels and boxes?"

"Look, I told what I am, isn't it polite to reply?"

"I did tell you but you didn't believe me."
