Robyn's POV

Entering my apartment, the wind howled as rain battered the double-glazed window in the dead of the night. The cracking sound of mighty thunder was rumbling everywhere, and from dark clouds, blinding bolts struck here and there; lighting up the sky for a second before vanishing.

I then tiptoed my way to the window and sighed as I sealed it shut for the wooden floor was slippery, and I was now standing in a puddle of rain; the strong wind must have unlatched the lever and let the storm in.

Letting out an exhausted sigh, I dropped my keys on the floor followed by my dripping briefcase and drenched coat before turning on my heel and heading towards my room; the wooden staircase squeaked under the weight of my feet as I sluggishly walked up its old steps with a heavy heart.

I then changed and took a seat on the upholstered chair positioned in front of my bedroom window and contemplated the weeping sky in the hope that it would console me in return.

Feeling my body giving in, I laid my head back and closed my tired eyes.

As the clock ticked away; rain acted as white noise, and eventually, my mind had been lured into the black folds of obscurity.
