Luna woke up to the sound of birds singing, she felt that today would be a special day. Luna loved storybooks and was always seen reading one. Her sister Agatha though she said that she despised story books Luna would always find her reading one in the solitude of her own room. Luna was liked more by the people of Gavaldon than her sister. All of the children of Gavaldon will wither in their beds afraid of the night to come. If the school master took them, they'd never return. Luna was not afraid, she knew that she wasn't going to be taken.

Luna and her family lived in a cemetery on top of Graves Hill. Agatha's best friend Sophie came to visit often. From her room she could hear Sophie Knocking on the door and Agatha telling her go away. "That's no way to speak to your best friend," Sophie cooed. "You're not my best friend." This was a regular occurrence for the two and Luna had learned to tune it out. Luna never really had any friends in the village, they all were scared of her. She spent most of her time down at the lake or walking along the forests edge.

Whenever Sophie came over Luna was always left out, so she started to do things by herself. She would always make home cooked meals with real meat and vegetables and bring them to the mill workers who did not always have the same privilege as others. She was well liked around Gavaldon and was always very friendly. Luna was never at the house on Graves Hill when Sophie came over, she would always sneak out of the window.

Luna was walking through the graves on Graves Hill heading toward the path that lead down to the town. While walking down the hill she saw Radley and they talked while walking down to the town. She said bye to Radley as soon as they got into town walking toward the market to see what people were selling, she did eventually end up buying some bread, eggs, cheese, and some herbs for her mother Calis. Luna walked around town til it got to about 4 in the afternoon, she stopped by Mr. Deauville's storybook shop to borrow a book and then started to walk back home.

Luna was sitting on her bed looking out the window and thinking "What would happen if I was one of the children that would be taken. I don't want to go I want to stay here with my mom and sister." Luna stood from her bed and made her way out of the house to stand is the light of the setting sun, standing straight and looking forward she said " Take me for all I care, I will find a way back home. You will not break me and make me feel like I have no where to turn. I will not break my will or determination."
