Love In The Dark

Prologue

*thump thump thump thump* the sounds of the girl running could be heard in the forest, Marisol, a young girl was a newly turned vampire was running for her life from a vampire hunter. She ran and ran but, somehow he was faster, he raised a crossbow, and with much precision, shot her in the leg. "AAAAARRGH!!!" She screamed out in pain as she fell to the ground, the hunter approached her trembling form, with a gleaming sword drawn he spoke, "Pitiful, a vampire who doesn't fight back. I could just kill you now but...I think I'll keep you, as a reminder that you can't escape." With that, he knocked her unconscious, and took her to his cabin.

(Later)

Marisol woke up, she looked around and found that she was in a cage, she panicked and tried to reach for the bars to try and free herself but was met with burns on her hands from the metal, "OW!! Chikushō!!!" She hissed in pain. A low chuckle was heard from across the room, "I would expect more from a vampire, I thought you could handle a little burn from silver" Marisol gnashed her fangs at him, "Just let me go! I wasn't doing anything!" "You really think I'm going to buy that? You were spotted in a village while people were getting ready for the Blood Moon. Do you think that, 'wasn't doing anything'?" It was true Marisol was near a village, but she couldn't help it, she was just barely turned, she's a slave to her hunger. "I didn't mean to cause any trouble!" She stated her voice shaky from fear," I couldn't help myself! I'm sorry I never meant to cause harm!" The hunter rolled his eyes, then grabbed a silver plate and chain and proceeded to grab Marisol, placing the plate over her mouth securing it with the chain. "You talk to much" he said, Marisol began screaming in pain though her screams were muffled. The hunter got tired of it so he grabbed her head and slammed it against the bars of the cage, he spoke with a cold voice, "If you scream, I will kill you, if you try to escape, I will kill you. If you even annoy me the slightest bit, I will kill you." With that he got up and left. Marisol couldn't stay there and let this bastard steal her life like this, she needed to get out of there, but how? He said if she tried to escape he'd kill her, but that wasn't true...right?

(A few weeks later)

Marisol was woken up by I stinging sensation, She winced and sat up to find the blinding light of the sun in her face, she backed up into a shaded corner of the cage. "You're finally up, I'll close the window but first come here," Marisol didn't hesitate and carefully made her way over to him, "I'm going out today, I'll be gone for a few hours. But if I come back and you're gone, well I think you know what would happen...." and with that he left closing the window, locking it. Marisol knew this was her chance to leave but, how was she supposed to get out of here? She couldn't just shrink down and run through the bars- well she could but she hadn't eaten anything so she couldn't use her powers. Marisol took a moment to think, then decided this was the only way. She crawled over to the bars, grabbed them despite the pain, and pulled them apart as much as she could so she could fit through. Once she finally made a big enough hole, she climbed out, though her clothes ripped, she was out. She immediately grabbed pliers and snapped the chain off of her face. She was relieved at the feeling of the metal being off. She had to leave the cabin now, but how? It was broad daylight, she would burn alive, she had a sudden idea, "I'll grab one of his masks and robes, they'll be a bit big on me but it'll keep me safe from the sun." And with that she grabbed a black kitsune mask and black robe. She approached the window noticing it being locked, all she did was look at it, then kicked it open. She climbed out before looking back and saying, "Goodbye hellhole".
