After the front door closed the house went back to its usual quiet self. But that didn't last long. Nina, the house cat, ran up to Nory. "Good morning, Nina," Nory said to her. She patted the cat's head and it let out a loud meow. "You hungry?" The cat meowed again. "Where were you when I was having breakfast, huh?" Nory took off her jacket and hung on the coat hook before continuing. "Come on. Let's get you some food."

Nory moved to go to the kitchen but Nina got in front of her. She rubbed against Nory's leg making it hard for her to move. Nina stopped to continue her loud meowing but didn't move from in front of Nory. Nory tried to step over the cat and onto the carpet but Nina decided to be a stupid cat and step under Nory's foot. Nory had a second of panic and quickly grabbed onto the wall to keep herself from either falling over or stepping in Nina.

"Okay I'm not dealing with this!" Nory finally exclaimed. She moved her foot backwards before stepping down onto the ground, so Nina would be safe once more, before picking up Nina, a heavy cat for her size. The cat wipped her head around in confusion. "Your getting to be a heavy cat," Nory said to her. Nina meowed loudly. "A heavy brat."

Nory ambled into the kitchen and placed Nina onto the tile floor. The cat sat in front of her food bowl still meowing. Light shined in through the window onto the counter top. Nory opened up a cabinet for a can of cat food. The dark scar on the back of her left hand caught her eye. She had always been curious as to the origins of said scar but when she tries remember how she got it all she recalls is an early version of the scar. A much darker version, darker than any normal scar. She didn't worry about it because it was probably just her younger self being overdramatic.

She picked up a can of cat food and opened it. The smell of wet cat food was never enjoyable. Nory turned the can upside down over Nina's bowl and the food came down into it.

Nina immediately started eating. In the meantime, Nory grabbed her phone and played some games on it for a while.

After a bit, Nory's mother walked into the living room to see her laying on the couch doing nothing. She asked Nory, "Now what was this you said about being more healthy?"

"I uh- forgot?" Nory tried to argue, but it didn't work out in her favor. She sat up and put down her phone. At least Nina ran over and sat beside her.

"Go to the gym, or something," her mother suggested. "You do have a gym membership, don't you?"

"There's a gym in Lohca?" Lohca (LOH-kuh) was the smallest town in the region. It was peaceful, mysterious, and mainly residential. It was also the town that Nory lived in with her mother. And her annoying house cat.

"There's not a gym in Lohca, but there is one on Faron," her mother replied.

"I don't wanna go to Faron, though," Nory complained like a child.

"Well if you want to be more healthy, you need to work for it. So I recommend you get dressed in some clothes that are fit for going out and about."

Nory watched as he mother went into her office to work. She rolled her eyes before uprooting herself from the couch and heading upstairs to her room.

Nory's walk-in-closet was a mess. It always had been. She told her mom she had too many things on her mind to clean it out, but she knew the real reason it was a mess was because she was lazy when it came to cleaning. She had been browsing for jobs. None ever caught her interest, so she stopped and excepted her fate.

Maybe I should finally clean this out, Nory thought to herself. She just wanted to stall for time.

Soon enough, she was pulling out boxes full of old photo albums, worn out toys, and dusty notebooks from when she was in school. The old memories bubbling up made her feel better about the day had in store.

That's when Nory saw something in the back of the closet that she didn't recognize. A red box the size of an average adult's shoe box.
