This story is based on the story of dr Nye and a bunch of mice, so kudos, bvb4ever333
Ghastly curled up over the desk, his robes scratching roughly over the numerous scars that now lined across his back. When doctor Nye had promised to get everyone back after the mouse accident, they had not been joking, and any possible pranks involving those things were taboo even to think about. Not that he had the time to think about it, seeing as there was already s shipment of hollow-men coming in that he had to deal with.
"Hey ghastly!" Valkerie peeked her head round the door, red faced and harried.
"The shipment arrived!" She gasped, sweeping back her hair with one hand. Skulduggery stepped smoothly into view behind her, unruffled as always.
"They gave it to Clarabelle". He said simply.
He let out a groan. What had happened now...
Through the crack open door, a hollow man lumbered silently into view, a slightly faded smile scrawled across the papery skin in sharpie, but whith one shot from the 0.3 Winchester it deflated like a balloon.
"We should probably get doctor Nye to get rid of them". Valkerie smirked, leaning back in amusement as if she already expected the punch Ghastly was so tempted to lay on her.
Ghastly stepped out from his chair, sighing and already preparing himself to beg and plead for help, in the faint hope that the lecherous toad would pull out a helping scalpel. Dodging past the various hollow men trailing absently through the halls, they made it their office unscathed, to step silently into the room. By the time they noticed them, they had pressed themselves up against the back wall, crouched precariously on the swinging black chair and poking furiously at an approaching hollow man with one of the blunter scalpels, lips pressed tightly together as if in the hope of holding back as scream.
"What seems to be the problem, Nye?" Ghastly stifled a grin, eying up the horrified doctor with barely concealed satisfaction. He was actually scared! His grin faltered slightly as Nye glared daggers into his soul, still leaning away from the aimless, cheery faced creature swaying in from of them.
"Get this...Thing from my office!" They hissed, the scalpel still clutched tightly in their greying fist.
Seriously? Ghastly rolled his eyes slightly from the safety of the doorway, fighting the urge to groan again. It hadn't even been given orders yet! It couldn't attack them if it wanted to. Straightening their back, Nye leapt down from the chair and stabbed the scalpel viscously into its skin, twisting it sharply before pulling it away again. Nee locked their eyes onto his, as the hollow man began deflating silently in the corner. Greenish gas leaked into the air, and Valkeries's eyes began to water, as she frowned indignantly at the hollow mans scrawled on smile.
"I. Do. Not. Tolerate. Painless. Brings. In. My. Lab." Nye scowled, face twisting into something resembling a childish pout.
"They can't feel pain, they can't be tortured, can't be threatened, they don't even have enough of a mind to scream. I could even have a vampire at a loss if I catch it fast enough. I despise it, and I want you to get it out!" The last words came out with a snarl, and Skulduggery tilted his head, signed, and fired one swift bullet into the sagging, stumbling figure, watching it crumple like a plastic bag onto Nye's chest, as they recoiled with a high pitched shriek.
Maybe this weekend was going to be a fun weekend after all.
"You still have to order a new shipment of hollow men." Valkerie reminded him dully, wiping her eyes and stepping back out into the hall.
"Not to mention clearing all these guys up. Anyway, see you later, I've got things to do!"
"Dammit."
Hi!! Good to see you readers!!!!!
The next time Nye walked into his office he was faced with a room full of hollow men. When they turned to him their dull faces twisted with recognition, and their pale bodies pressed together as they lurched to the door. Ghastly smirked as the faint wail of screaming echoed to his office.
