Snufkin watched from the small river his tent was set up by, he watched them dance, smile, laugh, blush over eachother. He watched Moomin and Snorkmaiden dance around in the field, being all over eachother, like couples do.

Snufkin looked away, biting his tongue and burying his head in his hands. Little My looked up at her younger brother. "What's wrong with you?" She asked, standing up and looking around to see if she could find anything that'd upset him around them.

"I messed up. Oh, I fucked up." Snufkin said with a shaky breath. My looked taken aback, having just heard her little brother cuss, although she let her eyes continue to wonder after a second. Her eyes landed on the two in a field near by and made a quiet gag sound before looking back at Snufkin.

"Well what did you do?" She asked, crossing her arms and leaning against a large rock near her.

"Moomin's pissed at me." Snufkin said softly, holding back tears. "For so many reasons." He continued, feeling his finger tips drag along his skin till his hands were in fists, still up to his eyes. "All so.. valid.." Snufkin sniffled, feeling the tears burn the corners of his eyes until he couldn't stand the feeling and blinked them out.

My's eyes softened and her eyebrows tilted up in an upset way. She could tell Snufkin was crying. Even if he didn't make much noise, his body shook slightly and his breathing was messed up. "Hey, calm down. What is he mad about? I'm sure y'all can talk it out." My commented, hopping onto the rock she was against.

Snufkin stayed silent, taking deep breaths In. He opened his mouth to begin—

Snufkin sat on the bridge, his legs dangling off the side. He was eyeing Snorkmaiden and not in a good way. He was jealous of her. She had won Moomin's heart.

It hurt Snufkin to think of, and he didn't want to be a jealous person but he couldn't help it. They looked so happy with eachother. Snufkin wished he could be Snorkmaiden, that he could be the one Moomin was hugging so close. He wanted to be the one Moomin would get flowers for, and kiss on the cheek, and take on cheesy but sweet dates.

And Snorkmaiden has noticed this. She had seen the way Snufkin would glare at her before realizing what he was doing, the times he'd stare holes into the back of her head when she was with Moomin. It was annoying, but she kind of pitied him on it.

Snufkin looked down at the water, kicking his legs back and forth slightly. It caught him off guard when he saw a white fluffy boy in the water next to him. Snufkin looked up at Moomin, and smiled. "Morning Moomin, how ar-" "you need to stop it." Snufkin flinched a little at the coldness of Moomin's voice.

"What?" Snufkin questioned. "I know you're jealous of Snorkmaiden and I." Moomin seemed to snap and Snufkin couldn't help but sink into himself a little. "Moomin I don't-" "You need to stop it, it's annoying." Moomin cut Snufkin off causing the mumrik to shut his mouth quickly.

Snufkin stayed silent for a good minute and looked down at his feet. Moomin looked down at him and felt his heart ting a little bit, he quickly brushed it off. "Why. Why are you so jealous of us?" Moomin asked while he crossed his arms.

Snufkin could fill his stomach dig a deep pit into its self. "I-I'm not—" "Stop lying Snufkin! You are!" Moomin declared and Snufkin grabbed onto his own tail anxiously, starting to rub his thumb down it. "Why." Moomin said again, and it was getting harder for Snufkin to breathe.

"B-because." He stuttered out, looking back down at the water. Moomin cocked up an eyebrow, waiting for an answer. "because I love you." He answered quickly, and Moomin's face fell.

"Snufkin." Moomin said it a cold, rather harsh voice. Snufkin kept his eyes down, now onto his still feet. He made a small hum in response, praying for the best to happen. "I don't like you like that! I never had! I never will!" Moomin shouted out, and Snufkin instantly felt a lump in his throat and tears raising in his eyes.

"—I was jealous. I am jealous, and he..pointed it out and.." Snufkin started to tear up more, his whole body shaking. My panicked for a second before running over to her brother, rubbing on his lower leg and trying to cheer him up.

"Hey, hey. It's ok. If Moomin can't see how amazing you are I guess he can go get fucked." My said in hopes it would comfort her brother in anyway. Snufkin sniffled in response and My sat down beside him.

"Look the way I see it Snuf, you should wake up." My finished the sentence in a slightly rude voice. "My, this isn't a fucking dream." Snufkin said in a shaky breath. "No snufkin, really. Wake up!" Snufkin looked down at his sister, his face full of tears and wet streaks.

"My this isn't funny." "Wake the fuck up before I smack you, dumbass!" My yelled, and like that Snufkin sat up quickly. Panting heavily and crying softly. He looked around cautiously, taking in his surroundings.

He was in Moomin's room. Next to Moomin. Snufkin tried to calm his breath, trying to understand where that dream came from. He shivered at the chilly air in the room. Moomin whined quietly. "Snufkin..please don't leave." Moomin begged almost silently, clinging onto Snufkin side.

Snufkin's eyebrows turnt up sadly before laying back down and cuddling onto Moomin. Moomin seemed to calm down almost instantly and mumbled something Snufkin couldn't catch before he was back sound asleep.

Snufkin kissed Moomin on the forehead, hugging him as close as he could. "I love you Moomin." Snufkin admitted, smiling contently at this moment. He loved moments like this, calm moments when Moomin was next to him.

It was moments like this that kept him sane. "snuf.." Snufkin looked down at Moomin, seeing the boy looking up at him. "Yes dove?" Snufkin answered, holding the fluffy boy in his arms made him happy, so he couldn't help but keep a small smile planted on his face. "Why would you leave me?" He asked and Snufkin's eyebrows scrunched up. "What?" He asked quietly, looking Moomin in the eyes, his smile becoming a nervous, forced on looking one.

"You left me there. You left me in the bridge again." Moomin snapped at Snufkin although his voice stayed quiet. "D-dove I dont-" "do you even love me?" Moomin asked and Snufkin looked taken aback. "Of corse I love you!" Snufkin replied, holding Moomin a little tighter.

"But you left me again."

Snufkin sat up quickly with warm sweat running down his neck and back. His breathing was quick and not as deep as it should've been. His head snapped quickly around, taking in the features of his tent around him.

And he slowly began to remember. Winter had hit Moominvalley and he had left. Snufkin slowly brought his hand up to his heart, feeling the aching it had growing in it.

He took a few deep breaths before falling back down into a laying position, letting his eyes be flooded with tears.

He already missed Moomin.
