Chapter 1

The sun was beginning to rise as Sky looked out if her bedroom window. She jumped out of her bed onto the cool hard wood floor, and bound out her door into the hallway, connecting her room to her sibling's. This was a special day. It was Christmas morning.

Sky ran into her sister's bedroom, and attacked a still sleeping Ivy.

"Get up Ivy! It's Christmas and Santa came with presents, and he probably ate the cookies!"

Ivy looked at her six year old sister sleepily. Sky was not a force to be reckoned with. Once she wanted to do something, not even a hurricane could stop her. She was a spitting image of her older sister. Both shared blue-green eyes, and long chocolate brown hair. They were both on the short side and were very petite; Ivy wore a size 2.

Ivy, going on 17, was easy to get along with. She hated arguing, but certainly knew how to do it when she needed to. She was mildly sarcastic, however very sophisticated in the same respect. She had the personality that could make a room glow, and could light up the darkest situations. She really was grown up for her years.

Ivy turned to look at her clock, which read 5:37 am. "Sky... It's really early. Maybe we should wait for Mom and Dad to wake up."

"No! Please get up Ivy! I really really want to open presents!"

Knowing she was no match for her sister's pleas, Ivy rolled out of bed. "Okay... But first, we have to wake up Luke."

Luke was the oldest of the three siblings, at 17. He and Ivy hung out at home, sure, but at school or in public, being seen with his two little sisters was a tragedy. He had a bad boy fiscade to maintain, so to be seen with his 'Straight A, pretty little good girl' and 'adorable little tornado' sisters, was out of the question.

Luke drove an old Honda motorcycle he had fixed up; Ivy drove a Mini Cooper, with a collection of Sky's coloring books in the back. Luke pierced his nipples with sewing needles against his father's will; Their dad had taken Ivy to get her ears pierced for her 10th birthday. Luke was lucky to have two A's on his report card; A's were all Ivy had. The two, were no doubt very different, but siblings nonetheless.

Ivy and Sky ventured into the black hole known as Luke's room. They saw what they suspected to be Luke under a pile of blankets, clothes, bags of junk food and knick knacks. Cautiously, they made their way to his bed. To make any sudden movements might unleash a beast who could only be tamed with breakfast and defiance. Slowly, very slowly, Ivy plucked earbuds out of Luke's ears- however all efforts made for a slow peaceful morning had been killed when Sky pounced on Luke.

"Get up! It's Christmas bubble-butt!" Informed Sky.

Luke pulled Sky down and covered her mouth while she kicked her legs, trying to break free of her brother's strong hold. "Is that right, little cloud?" He asked her. He turned his foggy eyes to Ivy, who shrugged her shoulders and mouthed 'sorry'. "Do you realize it's only, like 5 something?" He asked her. She nodded and rolled her eyes. "I tried." She said tiredly. Sky finally broke free and ran out of the room.

Luke did something Ivy had never seen him do before. He actually got out of bed before 6 am. "So do we have pancakes?" He asked, then walked out of the room.

A few hours later, everyone was awake, had been fed, opened gifts, and were now attempting to find homes for all the new stuff. Ivy was putting new clothes in her closet when her phone vibrated.

Hailey: Come to the park for snow later? Bring Damien and I'll bring Sam and a camera! I'm thinking noon ish?

Ivy: For sure!

Hailey and Ivy were best friends. Inseparable from when they first met making castles out of blocks in Kindergarten. Naturally, she would never decline and invitation to throw snow at her honorary sister.

Ivy sent on the message, and was out the door in her boots and gloves by 11:30
