Synopsis
Intro- The Florist- Main Character.
It's Saturday morning, roughly around 9AM, and New York is waking up later than ever. She walks around her little shop filled with beautiful, colourful flowers and waits for her first customers.
week skip - The Florist.
another Saturday is here and not one single flower is sold. she tries to think of lower prices for her roses that are also reasonable prices. so she priced her yellow roses from $15 a rose down to $10, her red roses from $20 for 2 roses, down to $10 for 2; and so on.
week skip- The Florist.
The third Saturday is already here and again not one flower has been sold. so she takes one more dive into the pit of agonizing sorrow of not making any money in 3 weeks and decides to have a sale. she closed up shop early since she wasn't going to make any customers anyway due to the heavy winds and rain. and so she began to paint large A5 posters in red paint with the words 'ON SALE NOW' and 'GET THEM WHILE THEY'RE FRESH'. and decided to open not just every Saturday but every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. from 6AM to 11PM.
week skip- Saturday - Her Bedroom.
She didn't bother getting up early, she had dark circles under her eyes, her hair was a mess, her room was filled with tissues and dirty clothes. she had been up all night crying and thinking of ways to get a better job, to make it worse, she had an eviction notice slip slide under her door. She was depressed economically and emotionally, she wasn't paying her rent fee for almost a month and she was being kicked out, hell she didn't even have enough money to see a therapist to try to fix her depressed state. she stayed home that day, watching sad movies, binging sad shows, watching Disney movies and eating unhealthily.
week skip- Tuesday 10:55PM - The Florist
she had finally decided to master up some courage and close her shop for good, the store had been closed all day so she could pack up her things, board her windows, take down the shelves, and throw away her beautiful flowers. as she was about to walk out with a bag filled with flowers a man with a backpack rushed in and hid behind the counter, a police car with its sirens blaring ever so loudly speeded past the shop. her realisation had finally made sense and was now terrified. when the other police cars passed by he stood up and they met each-other's eyes. They held eye contact for a while, and she could see that he wasn't a man of killing or stealing, he was just a kind man in need of help, like her; and he saw that she was just a young woman trying to get by. He was on his way out when she asked if he needed a bed for the night. He insisted that he slept on the couch so she could sleep in her bed, even if she was willing to give it up.
Wednesday morning- 10AM - her apartment.
The Man had disappeared by the time she woke up, but what was in his place was more surprising, a stack of cash and a note. "Thank you for letting me stay the night, this is the first time someone has ever been this nice to me, in return of your unforgettable kindness I have left you a quarter of the money i have stolen, please don't think of it as stealing or being selfish, think of it as an opportunity to do better than I am. sincerely Matt. PS: I took a bouquet of your lovely red roses, my wife will love these."
Month Skip- Saturday 10AM- the Florist
it took her months, but she's back on track, thanks to Matt she had enough money to pay her rent fees for the next 3 years, go to a therapist to check her mental health, and upgrade her shop. Doing so attracted more customers and potential employees.
End.
